Job Summary

Under the direction of the Work Week Manager, the Production Control Coordinator – Expeditor supports planning activities for Direct Feed Low Activity Waste (DFLAW) production. Production planning for DFLAW ensures that all necessary materials, staffing, and plant systems are aligned to accomplish plant commissioning milestones. The Coordinator – Expeditor supports the work week planning and scheduling process by working with Work Week Specialists to gather and provide work planning status, and facilitate and coordinate integrated work planning with Maintenance, Operations, Commissioning, and other organizations. The Coordinator – Expeditor is also responsible for identifying, communicating, and facilitating resolution of potential problems that might impact work being planned in the plant. The Coordinator – Expeditor must be able to work with planning documents and schedules.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

  • Interface with representatives in functional organizations to obtain status of activities, communicate information related to work planning, and facilitate updates to work planning and scheduling

  • Develop and maintain the products necessary to support the planning process, including reporting and status products
  • Attend and participate in meetings to represent department goals and objectives

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world’s largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE’s most technically challenging cleanup projects equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory.


Minimum Requirements

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical, administration, or management field and 4 years of experience in scheduling, work planning, production planning, or related field. Experience with scheduling software and principles is required. Experience with Primavera scheduling software preferred.

OR

Associate’s degree in a technical, administration, or management field and 6 years of experience in scheduling, work planning, production planning, or related field. Experience with scheduling software and principles is required. Experience with Primavera scheduling software preferred.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of experience in scheduling, work planning, production planning, or related field. Experience with scheduling software and principles is required. Experience with Primavera scheduling software preferred.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship
