Eaton’s Power Systems Division is currently seeking a Division Quality Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Waukesha, WI facility. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Position Overview:

The Division Quality Manager will be the leader of the Quality function for a division of the Power Systems Division of Eaton's Electrical Sector Americas. The primary function of this person is to drive Customer Satisfaction (external and internal) and Performance through functional leadership by defining, executing, and deploying the strategic Quality Plan for the plants, within the division. The Quality Manager is responsible for achieving established short and long-term goals for quality metrics for the division. This person is also responsible for leveraging the tools and processes of the Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS) within the operational sites to achieve continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness as measured through Eaton's prescribed metrics and standard assessment practices. The position provides functional support of development and administration of product warranty programs and is accountable for driving performance results across the division to improve customer satisfaction and global competitiveness. The Division Quality Manager will build organizational capability by mentoring and developing functional and leadership talent consistent with the Eaton Quality Functional Excellence and the Eaton Leadership Model.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide Quality leadership across the division to drive collaborative strategies and solutions to ensure active leadership from management and ownership by all employees
  • Manage the customer interface to ensure that quality requirements which impact the multiple sites in the Division are met by all plants. Monitor and follow up on the process for Plant Quality Managers to regularly engage with customers to drive continuous improvement in satisfaction measure (as represented in CRR, customer surveys/scorecards, warranty)
  • Champion the Quality Management System / EQMS within the Division. Identify and lead prevention-based initiatives to address common barriers for the Division and the plants and enable sustainable improvements in prevention-based
  • Provide onsite support to help identify opportunities at high priority, target rich sites based on current CONC $, utilizing structured problem solving 8D/A3/ RIE, six sigma tools.
  • Quality systems. Oversee the effectiveness of internal and external QMS/EQMS assessments, including Eaton's OpA (Operations Assessment). You will identify operational and site Quality management action plans
  • Coordinate operation strategies and deployment for effective quality processes and tools, including: Six Sigma, APQP planning, PFMEA, Control Plans, Supplier Selection, development and management, PPAP, process and gauge capability, Risk Assessment, Root Cause investigations, 8D, CAR/DMR, and WISPER
  • Drive key quality metrics including, but not limited to: Cost of Non-Conformance (CONC), Supplier and Customer DPPM (internal as well as external), High Severity Customer Quality Escapes (HSCQE), Manufacturing Yields & OOB.
  • Utilize appropriate benchmarking and comparative data to drive continuous performance improvement and speed of response, and provide functional leadership to Plant Operations, Quality, and OPEX management to improve performance including the identification and standardization of best practices
  • Directly engage and support manufacturing foot print growth and/or consolidations consistent with divisional strategy, to mitigate risk and drive advancements in quality performance
  • Support Divisional/Group training strategies and plans for quality processes and tools, including: 8D, D/PFEMA, Control plans, Root Cause, Six Sigma, MSA/Gauge capability, PPAP, APQP, CAR, QCPC, WISPER, and any other quality/ continuous improvement tools
  • Build organizational capability across the quality function and ensure deployment of Eaton's quality functional excellence tool set and provide input to create development plans for functional reports
  • Customer Specific Requirements: understanding, customer concerns, and responsiveness
  • Establish effective warranty policies, tracking, analytics, and reporting (defect and cost data) to drive product line level improvements, contributing to Productivity goals. Manage customer loss and legal claims
  • Drive internal and external Supplier Quality Development by expanding and deploying processes and targeting critical commodities and Focus Suppliers to significantly reduce supplier defects by improving capabilities, including offshore and direct source suppliers
  • Manage the customer interface to ensure that quality requirements which impact the multiple sites in the Division are met by all plants. Monitor and follow up on the process for Plant Quality Managers to regularly engage with customers to drive continuous improvement in satisfaction measure (as represented in CRR, customer surveys/scorecards, warranty)

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or engineering
  • Must be legally authorized to work in US without company sponsorship

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Black Belt certification
  • ASQ, CQM, or CQE certified

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to demonstrate proven experience in process development, implementation, and sustainability
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills - both verbal and written
  • Ability to lead effectively in a matrix organization, in virtual teams (across different locations), and cross-cultural environments
  • Ability to effectively interact with others, establishing open, candid, and trusting relationships
  • Ability to influence others through utilization of leadership skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, including seeing the big picture and motivating others towards common goals
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving tools/methods (Six Sigma, 8D, etc.), goal setting, and performance tracking
  • Experience with product assurance methods and quality systems
  • Experience with the quality assurance of electrical systems or products
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
