PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Shipping Clerk (Material Handler A). The LA facility has approximately 250 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

Responsible for packaging and shipping product with minimal supervision. Contributes to a work team environment and demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Supports the focus of zero defects as well as right-the-first-time attitude. Perform shipping functions in the MFG/Pro QAD software system, create bill of ladings for outbound shipments and schedule LTL and direct air shipment pickups, create international shipment documentation. Support plant lean, safety, quality, and continuous improvement efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Packages goods for shipment using standard commercial packaging and/or per customer specifications.
  • Assures product ships to the correct customer via the preferred carrier.
  • Performs data entry of shipments via ERP, Customer Portals, and courier systems.
  • Prepares shipping documents and distributes upon completion of shipment transactions.
  • Assists Contracts personnel as needed for status updates and/or to resolve concerns.
  • Experience in scheduling national/international shipments online and by phone.
  • Other duties assigned by Lead/Supervisor

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and write English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in shipping and inventory control in a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Eaton will consider for employment, qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the FCIHO.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience using Microsoft Office programs, Excel and Word
  • Forklift Certified
  • DOT/IATA Certified
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a shipping clerk.
  • Minimum 1 year experience using MRP system
  • Some Aerospace experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Must be prequalified to work on defense projects, per the state department ITAR regulations.
