Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Rubber Cutter Welder to join our team on 2nd Shift (3PM-11PM). This position is based at our Rumford, RI facility.

Pay Rate: $20.29/hour + $.60/hour shift differential

Shift Hours: 3PM-11PM

In this function you will:

  • Set up and operate small latches, automatic machines, spot welders, drill presses, lapping machine, pneumatic drill presses, hydraulic presses, and marking
  • Perform a variety of secondary machining operations such as turning, boring, chamfering, counterboring, rubber cutting, and general assemble work
  • Work from prints, methods sheets, operations sheets, specification sheets, sketches, and/or verbal instructions to produce parts in accordance with acceptable quality and quantity levels
  • Use micrometers, verniers, vacuum check, knives, monochromatic light, optical flat, stops and guides, plug and ring gages, expansion plugs, and indicators. Set speeds and feeds, tools depth gages, comparators, and similar instruments.
  • Machine fixtures, jaws, plugs, and similar parts. Sharpen knives and tools. Change and reset dull tooling as required. Charge table plates with diamond paste following prescribed methods. Repair parts and finished seals as instructed or directed by group leader or supervisor.
  • Responsible for checking own work after first piece check by group leader or supervisor.
  • Report faulty operation, defective material, and unusual conditions to group leader or supervisor. Observe prescribed safety precautions, company rules and regulations.
  • Maintain area, equipment, and tools in clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Must have 1 year welding experience; or an apprenticeship; or completion of welding degree/certification.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Rumford, RI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1-3 years’ weld experience in light to medium industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of basic shop math and welding symbols.
  • Ability to read and understand formal, informal drawings, and/or engineering drawings.
  • Welding Certification
