Leidos has an opening in its Defense Group for a Database Administrator (DBA). The DBA maintains the integrity, security and availability of multiple database(s). Major job functions include: disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data; administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database; performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements; performs EDB Postgres, MongoDB, and Application server administration; and organizes and formats data for efficient query and storage processes. Creates and runs queries on the ABIS database for various request for information from both ABIS SI, BOD and PdM staff.

Has a secondary function as Site Operations Lead responsible for managing and leading the Site Operations Team ensuring the team is trained and able to meet its mission of monitoring ABIS 24 x 7 and is responsive to ABIS users request for assistance.

As Site Operations Lead, functions as the main POC for interaction with ABIS Users on a daily basis. Ensues issues are either resolved at the team level or sent to the software or infrastructure teams for resolution.

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop Ansible playbooks to ensure repeatable and consistent configurations from development through production.
• Establishes and maintains database user accounts
• Performs disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data.
• Performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability
• Provides server administration with a variety of database products that include EDB Postgres and MongoDB.
• Coordinates database architecture changes with database engineers
• Installation of database management systems, databases, tables and views
• Administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologies
• Create and implement database queries to satisfy RFIs
• Serve as Site Operations Lead, responsible for managing and ensuring that the Site Operations Team is trained and able to meet its mission of 24 x 7 support to ABIS and the ABIS user community.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

• Have extensive knowledge of the ABIS application, the database and its workflows. (5 years of ABIS experience in a position utilizing the ABIS application.)

• Have a bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology (IT) discipline from an accredited college or university and 8 years of additional database administration experience.

• Have extensive experience (5 years) writing database queries to support biometric related database queries.

• Experience with Postgres Databases.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:

• Have DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher.
• Industry Certifications
