Purpose/Objective of the Job


This role will be the strategic and operational partner to the Vice President of Regional Clinical Operations and specifically support the management of budget, resources, study country allocation, study execution performance, strategic efforts and communications.

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties

  • Assist functional leader in delivering transformative operating model enhancements that improve pipeline delivery and enhance business performance
  • Drive and coordinate RCO governance model and ensure alignment with GDO governance
  • Drive & coordinate regional review of study execution progress and overall performance metrics.
  • Assisting functional leader in the design and implementation of short- and long-term business strategies
  • Work with RCO Head to implement strategies to develop people and culture in alignment with GDO and company
  • Manage resourcing model for the regions and help manage workforce management plan in collaboration with CTP&AM, BI&A and RDSP
  • Support management of RCO budget to ensure proper and efficient use of allocated budget
  • Support communication flow and plan for RCO, including creating materials for regional and global meetings. Work with RCO Regional Heads and RCO Heads of Country / Country Clusters to plan annual Meetings
  • Assure that initiatives within RCO are kept on track and managed effectively through use of formal Charter review and approval process, and oversight involvement in key global initiatives
  • Drive & coordinate regional input to country allocation & site identification at the country-level with CTP&AM, BI&A & RCO Heads of Country / Country Clusters, and be responsible for the creation of the operational execution plan in collaboration with CTP&AM

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree within life sciences or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in people and project management in a pharma/biotech/CRO organization;
  • Significant experience in the planning, conduct and management of clinical programs (Phase I-IV)
  • Proven project management experience, with a strong background in the operational aspects of clinical research studies.
  • Experience in resource planning, budgeting techniques and process improvement preferred
  • Understands the drug development process, from early to late stage, including lifecycle management
  • Deep knowledge of clinical trial operations including monitoring methodologies, systems, regulations/compliance, budget and resource management and site facing engagements
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills and independent decision-making ability
  • Highly organized and motivated possessing excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Ability to work independently in a fast moving and increasingly complex environment with limited direction is required
  • Individual must possess the ability to build alignment and drive performance across matrix teams through personal influence.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to influence, inform or guide others
  • Results oriented with proven track record in building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (both in English and local language)
  • Microsoft Suite
  • Clinical Trial Management Systems
