What you’ll be doing...

The Gaming & Entertainment team (part of Verizon’s Device & Consumer Product Marketing organization) is charged with connecting consumers with next generation video game experiences that harness the power of Verizon’s 5G network. As a Product Manager, you will be defining and executing on our product roadmap, focusing on the intersection of cloud gaming and Verizon’s core network services. Your primary focus will be building strategic partnerships with the gaming industry’s leading publishers and technology providers, with a focus on resale and distribution. Additionally, you will be conceptualizing and launching new wireless and home internet services for gamers that leverage the speed and coverage of Verizon's 5G Ultra-Wideband network. Your responsibilities will span the entirety of a product’s lifecycle.

  • Delivering the vision and rationale behind our team’s portfolio of products. This includes owning the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of how new products are launched, and creating thorough, research based business cases that maximize return on investment and revenue growth.
  • Leading business development by sourcing, nurturing, and acquiring new partners across the gaming ecosystem.
  • Collaborating with our legal and subject matter experts to structure, draft, and execute partnership agreements.
  • Leveraging research-based insights to determine how our products and offerings are priced and positioned to meet customer needs.
  • Determining our overall go-to-market strategy and supporting our marketing teams in defining product messaging and value propositions to maximize demand generation.
  • Defining the business requirements and rationale around new services. Providing business and user experience specifications around how customers learn, buy, get, and use new products.
  • Ensuring business priorities, technology capabilities, and operational capabilities (including resourcing, engineering, and marketing operations) are aligned.
  • Tracking and orchestrating daily, weekly, and/or monthly deliverables and stakeholder meetings.
  • Developing mitigation plans when schedules or service quality is at risk. Setting and tracking all product-level OKRs.

Where you'll be working:

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You are a natural leader, thrives in a matrixed organization, and have the ability to influence and drive alignment with senior leaders and external partners. You should also be comfortable solving ambiguous problems through data driven analysis and business insights. Experience in the video game ecosystem and/or wireless technology is strongly desired, as you will be the subject matter expert and voice of the consumer when it comes to developing new network and cloud-based solutions for Verizon customers.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Expertise in business development and partnership agreements.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite Tools, including Sheets and Slides.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s degree – more impressive if you have an MBA.
  • Experience in wireless technology, particularly in a consumer marketing capacity.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-complexity projects.
  • Written, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and working knowledge of Jira.
  • Track record of successful new product and/or partnerships launches.
