Do it here.What youll be doing...Verizons Professional Services (PS) encompasses the consulting delivery, solution innovation, and the enterprise products and services portfolio that include Networking Solutions, Security, Advanced Communications Services, Internet of Things (IoT), 5G Services, and MEC to Verizon's key Enterprise and Government clients.As Director of a delivery portfolio within Verizons Professional Services, this position oversees the consulting delivery, solution innovation, and the enterprise products and services for one of the PS portfolios supporting key Enterprise and Government clients. This role sits on the Professional Services leadership team and will align with Professional Services strategy and the business model to execute portfolio responsibilities.The ideal candidate is an experienced leader in PS, with strong experience in technology services delivery, operations, and P&L management. The ideal candidate should has managed multiple large global clients where they can leverage their strong business/technology/people leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and business acumen to the role.Verizon Enterprise is looking for a leader under the PS arm of Verizon that will be responsible for building, leading, and managing a team of application consultants, architects, and developers with a focus on edge, mobile, and 5G vertical use-cases and applications. A corporate entrepreneur, this individual will be responsible for strategy, build, and overall P&L accountability of a start-up application practice team, global eco-system partners, and revenue stream and must be capable of recruiting, leading, inspiring, and mentoring high-performing talent.The Director will serve as a:+ Technology and business delivery leader for a product and services portfolio within Verizons Professional Services organization, including but not limited to Business Development, Delivery Leadership, and Operational Management across consulting, delivery, and products for your portfolio.+ Business partner by proactively reaching out to internal customers and peers to establish trusting relationships. They will strive to understand goals of business/technology, take broad points of view, effectively manage requests, and help to understand tradeoffs and make difficult decisions.+ Change Agent by effectively presenting strategic direction to internal customers and direct reports. They will strive to differentiate and improve the customer experience in a proactive manner, and they will let others speak and seek to understand their viewpoints.+ Team leader by developing clear goals for the team and aligning the business unit behind them to drive results. They will focus on enabling the team to make decisions and demonstrate support for their team.+ Talent developer by seeking to understand direct reports career aspirations, strengths, and opportunity areas before providing guidance. They will define capabilities and expectations for a role(s) based on needs, while providing context on situations when delivering feedback.Strategic responsibilities to include:+ Creating and leading a Build-Buy-Partner model to accelerate practice maturity and overall capability enablement.+ Engaging with business partners to refine requirements and strategies to help drive business goals/objectives and lead the team to deliver and support innovative digital technology solutions to meet business goals.+ Implementing a technology strategy leveraging mobile, edge, and 5G capabilities.+ Building capabilities around the application delivery practices, processes, and tools, driving further adoption of Discover Management Systems, Agile, and Value Stream and platform first principles.+ Driving an end-to-end lifecycle enablement of application development and integration delivery capability from Outcomes First to Ideation and Incubation to Strategic Consulting and Advisory then Development Lifecycle to eventual Run and Operate Frameworks.+ Meeting group productivity targets, including but not limited to revenue, utilization targets by practice area, and per head productivity.Operational responsibilities to include:+ Ensuring the Application Development and Integration area uses sound practices and processes for implementing custom developed and packaged solutions.+ Developing, implementing, and maintaining a team organization that ensures skills and capacity for project and enhancement work while providing superior support for production applications.+ Maintaining knowledge of best practices in information technology, development processes, and software architecture.+ Maintaining knowledge of key business processes supported by Verizon platforms, solutions, and applications and technology.+ Ensuring business area requests for application development services are understood, prioritized, and addressed.+ Allocating skilled resources for project and enhancement requests as well as day-to-day operations.+ Establishing and managing workforce planning initiatives to ensure the organization can achieve its goals/initiatives by having the right people with the rights skills and competencies in the right places at the right time.+ Promoting a risk-aware culture and ensuring efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.+ Maintaining productive management level relationships with Verizon's business functions.+ Ensuring production systems are performing well and operating without defects.+ Providing leadership, guidance, and motivation to the integration and development team(s) responsible for creating and supporting applications.+ Implementing strong delivery governance and oversight processes and operational rigor across your portfolio to ensure high standards of delivery to clients+ Implementing and driving strong project financial management discipline in your portfolio to proactively mitigate project cost overruns and impacts+ Provide SME/delivery input to the solution and service roadmaps and go-to-market and channel strategies for new offerings and enhancements to existing services for your portfolio.+ Realizing bookings target and managing resource utilization to targets within your portfolio.+ Expanding key customer base; developing business by means of delivery led follow on business+ Overseeing order-to-billing functions to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition on field delivery activities.+ Supporting portfolio monthly business reviews and other stated performance reporting requirements.+ Leading delivery training, development, and certification initiatives within the PS practice.Managing your portfolios books of business includes:+ Portfolio management, including financial reporting, metrics tracking, and portfolio management.+ Controlling and managing spending in line with profitability targets, including oversight over capital requests and allocations.+ Coordinating with Finance, PS management, Marketing, and Sales to drive growth initiatives and maintain healthy business situational awareness.+ Providing input to the sales/solutioning process for your portfolio by reviewing scope and estimates to ensure that what is being sold can be delivered with quality and profitability.+ Ensuring smooth contracting and legal interactions to facilitate deal flow.+ Overseeing order-to-billing functions to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition on field delivery activities.+ Supporting PS monthly business reviews and other stated performance reporting.+ Measuring and improving customer satisfaction.+ Coordinating closely with product management to meet service launch and availability milestones.+ Maintaining close interactions with customers and Verizon sales teams to collect front line feedback on service quality, feature set, and roadmap.+ Responsibility for maintaining a roadmap of services and versions, including new offerings and enhancements to existing services.Cultivating and fostering a strong team culture includes:+ Leading with integrity.+ Creating an environment fostering innovation and excellence in service delivery.+ Clearly communicating business strategy and path of evolution to all employees.+ Having routine interactions with Europe and Asia staff, including weekly staff meetings, regional team-wide meetings, and quarterly business reviews.+ Remaining highly accessible and responsive to both customers and Verizon employees.+ Placing customers first in all delivery interactions.+ Quickly responding to and handling all customer-facing delivery issues.+ Recognizing and reward employees who strive to model the Verizon credo.
