What you’ll be doing...

Verizon seeks a highly motivated, initiative-taking, collaborative attorney to join the Verizon legal team that supports Verizon’s prepaid brands, including Straight Talk, TracFone, Verizon Prepaid, Simple Mobile, Total Wireless, SafeLink and Visible. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Verizon legal team that supports the provision of wireless services to Verizon’s twenty or more million pre-paid consumers.

This position provides a motivated attorney the opportunity to tackle a broad range of issues in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, partnering with other Verizon attorneys, both within and outside of the Verizon Prepaid Brands Legal Team and Verizon Consumer Group Legal.

  • Address legal, regulatory, technology, and policy issues to ensure the successful launch of new consumer offers, marketing initiatives, pricing, retention and customer relationship marketing, customer communications and high level consumer marketing strategies.
  • Provide counsel to advertising and marketing teams, collaborating on the design and development of story boards, commercials, brochures, and phone packaging to ensure compliance with applicable law.
  • Guide marketing teams following legal analysis of offer structure, to ensure all aspects of offer implementation are appropriately addressed, including claim substantiation, eligibility criteria, segmentation, targeting for marketing tactics, offer communications, redemption process, and post-launch analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with existing marketing policies, federal and state laws and regulations, as well as Verizon’s Credo and associated policies, and assisting in formulation of solutions to any identified problem areas to ensure compliance, minimize company risk, and promote a positive customer experience.
  • Draft and update disclaimers as necessary, and ensure compliance with them.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements.

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • JD degree and six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Bar membership and needed licenses.
  • Legal practice experience with a corporate legal department or law firm.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience supportingadvertising law, federal and state consumer protection laws and regulations and general consumer protection issues.
  • Detail oriented and a self-starter with the ability to provide proactive, accurate and effective legal support, to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, often unpredictable environment with competing priorities.
  • Highly developed analytical reasoning skills, report analysis and keen attention to detail and processes.
  • Excellent research, writing and oral communication skills
  • Prior telecommunications experience

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the compensation range for this position is between $151,000 and $280,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
