FP&A Corporate and Business Unit Team

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, pricing decisions and new initiatives to develop new products and services. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios.

You will be part of the Global Technology Solutions (GTS) - FP&A team supporting the Verizon Business Group (VBG) organization.

• Prepare the plan and forecast, financial reporting, operational analysis and executive reviews for Actuals, Business Plan, Commitment View, and Best View.
• Act as a trusted business partner to the GTS-VBG operations/development teams, providing proactive financial guidance enabling them to achieve their financial goals.
• Interpret and evaluate monthly analyses of business trends, including budget variance of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to identify areas of risk and opportunities and provide recommendations.
• Assess the impact of strategic financial decisions and present recommendations to leadership.
• Identify, quantify and communicate financial risks and opportunities. Work with the GTS-VBG business partners to mitigate risks and opportunities.
• Exercise judgement and business acumen in reviewing and approving contracts, purchase orders, and other third party commitments, ensuring alignment with budget and strategic objectives, as well as compliance with Company policy and GAAP.
• Function as a liaison to other Verizon Finance groups (e.g. VBG, Corporate Finance, COE, etc.) on all financial matters pertaining to VBG GTS.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• A Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Microsoft applications.
• Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
• Experience with IT financial management
• Experience with, and working knowledge of enterprise: financial systems; budgeting/planning software applications; and business intelligence system, including SAP, Annaplan, Outsource Systems, Essbase, Smart View and Hyperion Planning
• Knowledge of Digital Finance applications/tools (e.g. Visualization, Data Analytics, RPA), including Looker
• Strong strategic skills, with the proven ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations.
• An advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes
