We seek a talented and collaborative scientist to use human genetics to gain insights in disease pathobiology and enable the development of novel drugs for Heart Failure. The successful candidate will develop and apply computational pipelines to elucidate causal mechanisms through integrative analyses (e.g. Mendelian randomization) of proteomics and clinical data from public and proprietary sources to identify causal mechanisms that drive Heart Failure. The position offers an exciting opportunity to gain industry experience and interact with the broader scientific community. The candidate will work closely with collaborators at the University of Pennsylvania and other academic institutions, who are scientific leaders in the field of HF translational research. The candidate will have the opportunity to publish their work, and to present at external meetings and conferences.

• Mapping protein quantitative trait loci (pQTL) across multiple contexts and data sources, including; a cohort of Heart Failure patients and UK Biobank.
• Test and apply statistical genetics tools to identify context-specific pQTL related to Heart Failure
• Perform Mendelian randomization across pQTL and multiple Cardiovascular disease endpoints
• Apply polygenic risk scores to segment Heart Failure patient populations based on disease mechanism
• Communicate findings in multiple settings (including 1:1, seminars, group, and project meetings)

• PhD in genetics/genomics, computational biology/bioinformatics, statistics, computer science/math/engineering or related field
• Expertise in statistical genetics, especially experience with methods such as; GWAS, eQTL/pQTL, co-localization, fine-mapping, Mendelian randomization, Polygenic risk scores or PheWAS
• Experience with relevant programming/scripting tools (e.g. R, MATLAB, Python, C/C++).
• Knowledge and/or interests in Cardiovascular disease biology a bonus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
