When you join Verizon

Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect across the globe. We’re a diverse network of people driven by our shared ambition to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

As the Product Development Manager, you'll leverage your product management background and serve as the portfolio lead for planning and developing the Verizon Business Group (VBG) device portfolio. As part of the Business Devices team, you will evaluate OEM/ODM device proposals, decide on the right device features and positioning, and also manage the launch deliverables and respective timelines. You will work cross-functionally with numerous teams and have to manage multiple products (throughout our commercialization E2E process) from ranging and on-boarding to device launch (and post launch). Primary focus will be on data-centric devices including Routers, MiFis, Receivers, and other Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) devices.

  • Working closely with internal stakeholders and executives to define the B2B device portfolio (mobility and FWA).
  • Collaborating with device partners/OEMs to review their device proposals and provide technical feedback/guidance during the device ranging process.
  • Determining product / feature alignment, managing schedules across multiple teams, and working with respective IMC/GTM peers to drive awareness and socialization of your product.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams to create and communicate a Verizon strategy (18+ month view) for integrating network features and Verizon services (e.g. 5G rollout, eSIM, MEC, Private Networks, etc.).
  • Support for device operations – provide feedback on product requirements, perform gap analysis and communicate product needs to various OEMs across product lines
  • Collaborate with Realization teams, VZ network teams, Product teams, and device manufacturers/chipset vendors for possible network FOA and early lab testing.
  • Manage defects tracking system and device operations dashboard for returns analysis.
  • Manage device COGS and pricing strategy to maximize Verizon metrics and market needs.
  • Working with supply chain and inventory planning teams to manage the proper inventory levels and mitigate any potential delays.

Where you'll be working...

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You can encourage and motivate others to deliver your vision. You understand the importance of providing clear and complete information so others can support you and provide their best work. You enjoy driving multiple projects from start to finish within very tight timelines and very high visibility. You work well with others especially when it comes to troubleshooting and resolving obstacles. You're able to communicate highly effective technical information in simpler terms. You will also be responsible for helping to commercialize current and future network capabilities on cutting edge Verizon devices. Your work and vision will be integral in maintaining Verizon’s leadership position by anticipating business customer needs and shaping our future offerings to meet them.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Technical product management experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Advanced degree in engineering, computer science or MBA.
  • Experience in Portfolio Management.
  • Managed device requirements for a business product(s).
  • Mobility and/or FWA device experience.
  • Developed and deployed products and new technologies (e.g. mobile or fixed devices).
  • Familiarity with wireless, telecommunications, and internet technology. Specifically, 5G (mmW/C-Band), LTE, CDMA, GSM, and device experience.
  • Managed complex projects with shifting priorities, demands, and partners. Ideally, with cross-functional teams, customers, and vendors.
  • Proficiency with Productivity/Presentation tools (Powerpoint/Sheets/Docs/Slides/etc) and experience with executive-level deliverables.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
