Eaton’s Vehicle Group is currently seeking an Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) Lead to join our team. This position is based at the Southfield, MI, Galesburg, MI or Marshall, MI facilities. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Position Overview:

This position coordinates and manages demand and supply planning for Torque & Fuel product lines within Vehicle Group North America. This role will develop, maintain, and monitor customer demand plans on a monthly basis. This will be achieved by integrating product mix with total volume, operational plans with strategic / profit plans; all while working pro-actively to maintain optimum balance between supply and demand, operational capacity and working capital. This is to ensure operational efficiencies to meet customer on-time delivery in the most profitable way. This role supports $280M+ in annual sales.

In this function you will:

  • Develop the aggregate Demand Plan (12-18 month rolling demand forecast) and supporting assumptions on a monthly basis for financial rolling forecasts and support the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning Process and on an annual basis to drive Profit Plans.
  • Develop, document, update, and challenge the factors and assumptions supporting the demand plan. Understand demand segmentation driven by sales volume and demand variability to determine inventory and forecasting strategies, as well as action plans to reduce forecast variation.
  • Provide detailed input to sales and marketing for use in the demand consensus review and executive SIOP (Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning) meetings. Measure and report actual vs. planned performance overall by market segment (product line), customer locations, product family, model mix, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain the demand plan performance (forecast accuracy) at various levels within the product structure. Participate in analysis of the cause or error to ensure continuous improvement of the overall process.
  • Responsible for communicating demand/supply plan to senior leadership and reach an agreed consensus; develop overall Material Plan.
  • Manage minimum and maximum inventory levels to align inventory to Sales targets determined by SIOP.
  • Provide input into monthly inventory rolling forecast for Division financial forecasts.
  • Work with Plant Materials team and inventory liaison to identify opportunities for improvement on inventory management and execute actions as appropriate.
  • Track production output in conjunction with SIOP, including weekly demand and capacity reports for operations planning.
  • Interface with customers, logistics, manufacturing, sales, pricing and other internal functions supporting the business.
  • K.Track customer portals in regards to demand forecast, release and EDI quantities, and manage the information as an input to the SIOP process.
  • Lead daily intercompany calls to review and assess production risks, shortages, capacity constraints, and support any escalation to upper management.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Demand Planning, Customer Scheduling, Plant Operations, SIOP, or related field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Galesburg, MI, Southfield, MI, or Marshall, MI will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with various systems such as: Oracle VCP, Demantra, Sharepoint, Cognos- BI, Supplier VIS, Microsoft Office, PC skills, high degree of product knowledge, persistent follow-up, a team attitude and customer oriented approach to daily tasks and overall outlook.
  • Solid understanding of markets (customers, end customers and competitors) and how our products service those markets.
  • Understanding of SIOP process and how customer build schedules impact Eaton plant production, including timing of that impact. Strategic and critical thinking, empowered to make business decisions.
  • Good understanding of markets (customers, end-customers, and competitors) and how our products service those markets.
  • Ability to drive process improvements to enhance & streamline SIOP process maturity; self-motivated and drive for results.
  • Ability and experience generating and analyzing statistical forecasts preferable.
  • Proven track record of success in a related role.
