The VP, Sales for US Hematology will provide executive leadership and strategic direction to our US Hematology Sales organization responsible for leading a team of region business directors, district business managers, sales representatives, CNCs and a sales operations team. This leader will be responsible for driving brand objectives, ensuring successful launches, and driving performance for in-line brands. This includes developing, leading, and executing sales & pull through strategies, plans and initiatives to achieve performance objectives.

This leader will be a key member of the US Hematology Leadership Team and be responsible for ensuring strong matrix collaboration across Marketing, Medical, VAP, and BI&A in line with the US Hematology LT vision and objectives. In addition, this individual will work closely with the VP US Oncology Sales to ensure alignment across all oncology sales forces. This role reports to the SVP of US Hematology and is located in Summit NJ with significant travel to visit customers, KOLs and team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sets the vision, strategy, and near and long-term business plans and objectives with the aim to maximize performance of the US Hematology portfolio
  • Identifies and secures resources, and facilitates alignment with matrix team members to successfully & actively lead overall business & account planning; ensuring deep understanding of customer and competitor insights, engagement of all key stakeholders, contracting & access dynamics, pull through and incentive compensation plans that appropriately drive growth and share gains.
  • Inspires, Engages & Mobilizes RBDs, District Managers, sales representatives, and CNCs behind the BMS mission/pledge and behind the US Hematology Vision and Culture
  • Seeks input on national sales organization issues, opportunities and direction and assigns strategic national level or business unit level brand & non-brand point responsibilities.
  • Proactively develops, reviews and modifies national business plan.
  • Interprets and integrates complex data to develop communication strategies to drive performance and productivity nationally.
  • Explores and develops new relationships and effectively maintains existing relationships with key contacts and opinion leaders across customer base, e.g., healthcare systems, advocacy groups, key accounts and key providers.
  • Develops contingency plans and makes tradeoff decisions in support of strategic business priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 15 years experience in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry is required.
  • BA/BS degree and/or advanced degree (MBA or scientific degree) preferred.
  • Prior management experience required, with deep leadership experience in sales, brand management, sales training, and/or VAP strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of top performance and sales results.
  • Experience building and leading teams of diverse backgrounds.
  • Understanding of industry trends, strategic planning, analytical thinking, negotiation, presentation, written and verbal communication, and relationship building skills are required.
