Purpose:

This is a newly created role that will support the English Language Learning division in accelerating our English Courseware across our Institutional business line. The role will report to the SVP, Institutional. As this is a new position, and indeed a new moment for Pearson as we pivot our business, this is a unique opportunity to build and scale this division and support the growth potential to $1bn over the next several years. You will be a sales expert, deeply experienced in driving consumer value and adept at putting the Consumer at the heart of everything we do.

What you will do:

As a Regional Director of Sales, you will:

  • Generate new business opportunities by following proven processes to prospect into enterprise accounts
  • Identify prospect needs, understand business drivers behind requests, and explain Pearson Learning’s value proposition
  • Conduct high-level conversations with senior executives about solving English Language Learner performance challenge using innovative learning, training and technology solutions
  • Own & drive revenue and growth numbers for the defined territory or accounts qualifying, building a solid pipeline, presenting solutions, and closing business
  • Support solution design backed by a team of solution architects
  • Propose and close new business deals and drive revenue within a specified region or list of named accounts
  • Construct, forecast, and manage your sales pipeline
  • Own the sales cycle - from lead generation to closure
  • Maintaining a high level of care within existing accounts while effectively developing more contacts within an account to further expand business
  • Be the customer voice when working cross-functionally with marketing, product, operations, and engineering teams.
  • Maximize profitability through effective negotiations
  • Coordination and alignment with other ELL functions (DtC and PTE) as needed basis
  • Drive a high-performance team by adopting a ‘hands-on’ leadership approach and a culture of commercial driven decision making
  • Lead by example, educate, inspire, motivate, mentor and, creating a sense of community amongst the various members

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience and a demonstrated track record of sales excellence
  • Strong commercial acumen, judgement and expertise across all aspects of area of responsibility
  • A solid understanding of consultative sales & ability to articulate ROI
  • Proven ability as a hunter and closer, growing a territory or region
  • A passion for solving customer problems
  • A client-centric focus and are obsessive about exceeding customer expectations
