The Associate Test Construction and Data Analyst work cooperatively with other Pearson departments to support data analysis reporting and systems needs using the statistical analysis software SAS. Additionally, this individual will work as a member of the Test Construction Group with managers and other team leaders to oversee test form use, construction, and analysis tasks that support the delivery of test forms. This individual is detail-oriented, analytical, and a strong communicator. The Associate Test Construction and Data Analyst works on multiple diverse projects simultaneously and plans and executes assigned tasks to meet every deadline.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitors data analysis request systems and produces quality and timely deliverables
  • Monitors SAS systems request portal and resolve queries in a timely and effective manner
  • Supports the coding, documentation, and testing of new SAS programs as well as running and adapting existing code
  • Completes initial construction of standard and specialized test forms according to established procedures and statistical parameters
  • Develops a working understanding of the interrelatedness of project components
  • Works to identify efficiencies and improvements to established processes, procedures, and systems
  • Assists in the development of new processes, procedures, and systems
  • Works cooperatively with other groups and departments to resolve queries and to meet deadlines

Skills/Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Mathematics, Computer Science, the Social Sciences, or another measurement-related subject; or equivalent educational background and professional experience
  • Coding experience and/or a demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages required, experience using or coding in SAS a plus
  • Understanding of basic statistical concepts (e.g. mean, median, standard deviation) required, additional statistical knowledge a plus
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, and computer/internet-based navigation required
  • Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with cooperative efforts and being a team player
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously

Location

The position is currently hybrid but will consider fully remote for the right candidate.
