The Center for Integrated Research (CIR) produces differentiated, relevant, research-based thought leadership. We do so by working with Deloitte's most senior leaders around the world to identify, research, and establish unique perspectives on the large-scale market shifts affecting our clients today. Our mission is to demonstrate the power that comes from combining the unique breadth of Deloitte's expertise with deeply researched perspectives on the most pressing issues facing our clients today. As the only Deloitte Research & Insights center whose charter spans global, cross-industry, and cross-functional issues, we are uniquely positioned to develop leading-edge perspectives that integrate thinking from across the firm's vast offering portfolios. By developing signature content, we enable Deloitte to speak with one voice, and help pave the way for new practices and capabilities within the firm.

The CIR is composed of researchers who support and conduct the design, research, production, and deployment of foundational perspectives and other thought leadership materials across multiple campaigns. This work drives to the heart of Deloitte's prioritized "issues to own" and positions the firm as a thought leader in the marketplace.

Position:

The Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructuring Services (MARS) eminence lead is a core member of the CIR team and works directly with MARS practice leaders, research leads, and other key industry and sector leaders to develop and execute on MARS research content and related eminence initiatives. You will work with MARS leadership to frame the MARS eminence priorities, develop and drive MARS research initiatives, and manage the development of MARS eminence and thought leadership.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate, coordinate, and strategize with MARS practice leadership and other research and insights centers, leveraging the breadth and depth of subject-matter expertise in the firm to both set the research/publication strategy for the MARS practice and curate content.
  • Collaborate with Deloitte's senior practice leaders and leverage your strategic, writing, research, and creative skills to arrive at fresh ways to approach a research topic that uphold Deloitte's reputation for establishing unique perspectives that resonate with key client audiences. In addition to working with experts in the practice, you will also work closely with each other and with other research centers to collaborate across topics for more coordinated research and insights.
  • Build your reputation by delivering internal and external presentations on research and article topics and serve as MARS CIR lead for clients, at conferences, with journalists and external publications, and for internal conversation with firm decision-makers and client-facing teams.
  • Make a strategic impact by cultivating relationships with external researchers and thought leaders, using a wide variety of skill sets to ideate, analyze, project-manage, and write research work that helps Deloitte differentiate itself in the marketplace.
  • Identify timely, relevant, and thought-provoking research themes/topics to build Deloitte's brand and credibility, and engage our clients and targets
  • Collaborate with the M&A Institute and MARS marketing team to identify channels/vehicles to bring those insights to market (e.g., white papers, podcasts, charticles, live client-facing events, etc.); support execution of those campaigns as needed.
  • Lead the framing, research, and writing of the M&A Trends Survey, our annual marquee publication.
  • Conduct analysis and evaluation of the mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring/margin-improvement market for research publication.
  • Collaborate with a network of Deloitte's MARS leaders and practitioners, other Research & Insights research centers, and other industry leaders and practitioners to understand the practice's strategic priorities in these areas.
  • Serve as a skilled adviser and subject-matter specialist in key collaborative research relationships and with practice leadership.
  • Manage project-based research teams of research professionals and practice subject-matter specialists, including aspects of project management and overseeing responsibility for the timely achievement of research milestones and review/feedback of work product.
  • Prepare reports, research papers, abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations, summarizing research findings from studies.
  • Collaborate with external partners on research and publications.
  • Use academic rigor and methodology in research.

Education/experience qualifications:
  • Graduate degree (MBA or PhD preferred)
  • 10+ years professional experience
  • Prior experience in thought leadership, journalism, research, and writing
  • Experience working independently and as part of a virtual team

Research qualifications:
  • Be familiar with the mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring/margin-improvement market
  • Be able to identify new research topics and support the development of research proposals
  • Have experience with designing and conducting cutting-edge research
  • Understand the future of the enterprise (technology-driven business, culture, and market shifts) and the resulting implication to the mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring business
  • Be able to synthesize complex information into actionable insights and a compelling narrative

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $[Register to View] 30.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
