Leidos Health Group has an opportunity for a Software Developer supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Process, Records and Knowledge Solutions (PRKS) task order. PRKS provides services for project management, Process Asset Library (PAL) processes development, test and implementation, training, maintenance, advisory and assistance services for strategic and analytical support, enhancements, and support to Records and Knowledge Solutions, Web and SharePoint Management. The preferred candidate is a seasoned application developer with at least a Bachelor’s degree and eight years hands-on experience developing software and interacting with customers on a regular basis, excellent spoken and written language skills and solid attention to detail. You will be part of a small virtual team that is managing a complex line-of-business application that has very aggressive targets in a high-pressure environment. The pace is fast, challenges are numerous, expectations are high and a cool head under pressure is almost a part of daily life. The position location is remote through the Leidos Colorado Springs, CO office.


JOB DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: The candidate will participate in a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to the sustainment and modernization of the Records Management – Meta Knowledge Repository (RM-MKR) software application development consistent with the project’s objectives listed below:

  • Maintenance: document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules. Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.

  • Enhancement and Integration Support: Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow and understand and comply with the Project Delivery Framework in all planning steps.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • The candidate will be responsible for the provision of software design and development services in support of maintenance, enhancements and modernization of the MKR application. The software is responsible for creating, maintaining, and producing, consolidated electronic file plans and inventories.

  • The candidate will assist with the analysis of business requirements and framing the proposed solution.

  • The candidate will participate in design reviews; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow.

  • The candidate will be responsible for establishment of IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing as well as ensure Corporate Architectural Standards are incorporated into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules.

  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and provide feedback to the final user documentation.

  • Work with various stakeholders to finalize requirements

  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies. Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives

  • Work with other team members to foster an agile and collaborative work environment.

  • Work with product owners and other development team members to determine new features and user stories needed in large/complex development project

  • Support the team in writing deployment scripts and place strong emphasis on automated deployment, infrastructure automation solutions and continuous delivery processes.

  • Respond to trouble/support calls from the production system to evaluate bugs and bug fixes in a timely, reliable, and efficient manner.

  • Properly integrate all work into our CI/CD pipeline to repeatably and reliably deliver updates to all environments, including Production.

  • Create or Update documentation in support of development efforts. Documents may include detailed specifications, implementation guides, architecture diagrams or design documents.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for the degree.

  • 8 or more years of relevant experience in creating logical and functional software code in a variety of languages.

  • 5 years’ experience on the Microsoft web stack, including IIS, ASP.NET, MVC, C# and SQL Server

  • Experience developing interactive web applications

  • Backend web design and development (ASP. NET MVC, Web/REST API, Micro services, Entity Framework (Code First), LINQ, C#, SQL, .NET framework 4.5.1 or better)

  • Front end web design and development (HTML5/CSS3, Heavy JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap 4.x and higher, Knockout and heavy AJAX and JSON)

  • Solid experience and skills designing and implementing object-oriented software solutions with an emphasis on industry best practices and design patterns C# (WCF, Web Services, MVC) MSSQL/T-SQL, and JavaScript.

  • Experience with Visual studio 2015/2017

  • Experience with Git, GitHub and Atlassian Source Tree

  • Windows Development

  • Additional technologies/tools used include Telerik reporting framework for .NET, Hangfire for .NET

  • Collaborator, self-starter, strategic providing input to technical design to meet project objectives

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and deliver results key milestones targets

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD:

  • Experience in developing Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) based capabilities including implementation, development and support experience

  • Experience with Lucene or Lucene.NET

  • Knowledge of Microservices-based architecture is strongly desired

  • Knowledge or experience in basic DevOps support and deployment

  • SOLID principles of object-oriented design.

  • Managing web farms/load balanced environments.

  • Information Assurance certification in one of the following: GSEC, Security+, SSCP, CISA, GSE, CISSP, GCIH.

  • Must be able to work in fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong organizational ability.

Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00
