As a Drupal Engineer, you will be responsible for the enhancement of the developer portal showcasing the products and services of Verizon Location Technology. The portal provides access to documentation, sample code, and SDKs for a robust and growing developer community. Thousands of developers and businesses use our services in new and interesting ways each day. Our customers constantly challenge us with new use cases for our own products, as well as new combinations we never considered. You will be solving deep technical problems and building innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment working with smart and passionate colleagues. Your responsibilities will include participating in the overarching solution by working closely with other software engineers, product owners, and additional stakeholders.

  • Design, build and support data processing pipelines and APIs.
  • Implement methods to improve data reliability and quality.
  • Analyze and combine raw information from different sources to create consistent and machine-readable formats.
  • Develop and test architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modeling.
  • Evaluate business needs and objectives.
  • Develop analytical tools and programs.
  • Practice Agile development methods and exemplify the core values of transparency, collaboration, acceptance of change, and iterative development.
  • Routinely deliver working software solutions that meet story acceptance criteria.
  • Learn from, collaborate with, and mentor team members.
  • Facilitate technical conflict resolution with active listening and critical thinking.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or four or more years of work experience
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience
  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

Even better if you have:

  • Three or more years of application development experience.
  • Two or more years of experience with PHP development with understanding of current idiomatic design.
  • Two or more years of experience with Drupal CMS development including custom modules; Drupal.org contributions.
  • Two or more years of experience with Drupal 8/9.
  • Proficient with CSS and preprocessors like Sass and/or LESS.
  • Understanding of CSS custom properties.
  • Basic understanding of ES6 and modern JavaScript frameworks like Node, Angular, and React to help in application design and development.
  • Understanding of browser compatibility and differences and how to overcome discrepancies.
  • Solid customer focus and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative Agile team.
  • Five or more years of experience leading large-scale projects.
  • Full stack development experience.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud computing platforms.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and desire to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to embrace change and work in a fast paced, iterative environment.
