What you’ll be doing...

In this role you will be responsible for developing curated datasets to address the data needs of Finance and other organizations that rely on Financial Data. Through demonstrable success, a desirable candidate will:

  • Respond to top-priority finance goals by developing curated data products leveraging foundational data assets using state-of-the-art tools and technology.
  • Exhibit strong communications, problem solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Work independently and partner with other data product developers and engineers to develop strategies and design solutions for curated data products as a bridge between data engineering and how data will be used by the client community.
  • Embrace the evolution of new trends and techniques involved in developing “analytics-ready” datasets using state of the art technology.
  • Transform data products development processes by experimenting with new techniques and making incremental progress with the goal of increased efficiency and improved value.
  • Understand new business initiatives with a goal of translating them into data product requirements and develop data engineering requirements to support data product development.
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence and Data Science teams to gather data product requirements.
  • Translate cross-functional business requirements into data products requirements to enable multiple uses for each data product. Integrate financial and operational data elements into consumable data products.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data products, specifically relating to data mapping/lineage, and data cataloging.
  • Validate data integrity during any extraction, transformation and load activities.
  • Develop repeatable data quality audits, policies and procedures to monitor ongoing data health.
  • Develop and execute on data cleansing activities.
  • Partner with the Data Engineering team to provide data requirements for foundational data development.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years of proven success with Teradata/ Oracle/ MS SQL Server and ability to analyze data sets using SQL.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Finance, Statistics or any data disciplines.
  • Knowledge of Data Engineering and associated processes.
  • Proven success developing “analytics-ready” datasets.
  • The ability to present complex ideas and insights to a variety of audiences while exhibiting excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to speak cogently and effectively about the details.
  • Success developing datasets on ThoughtSpot platform.
  • Success supporting Analytics for Finance teams.
  • Knowledge of all facets of data including data engineering, data products, analysis, visualization, predictive analytics and prescriptive analytics.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving experience, with the ability to break-down a problem into its components and solve it using subjective and objective techniques.
  • Demonstrable success in crafting value-added solutions using SQL, SSIS, Talend, Informatica and other advanced ETL platforms.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Telecommunication data sets– Wireline, Wireless & Network data set.
  • Knowledge on advanced technology concepts like Teradata, Big Data, Hadoop, Hive, Cloud, etc.
  • An Understanding of Business Intelligence tools and Robotic Process Automation.
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management.
  • Knowledge of process and business systems improvements and implementation.
  • A Six Sigma certification.
