Join Leidos and make a difference for our Federal customers in national security as a high-performing program analyst within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Defense Programs’ Office of International Programs in Washington, DC. This office supports international collaboration under Mutual Defense Agreements (MDAs). Technical expertise is required in support of on-going mission-critical activities designed to meet the goals of the Stockpile Stewardship Program and increase collaboration and coordination among the NNSA Defense Programs laboratories and international partners.

This is a full-time position at the customer site in Washington DC with one day of telework per week. Some travel is required both domestically and internationally (~10%).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical analyses and assessments in direct support of the Joint Atomic Information Exchange Group (JAIEG), a joint operation of DOE/NNSA and DoD. Support ongoing programmatic activities related to cooperation under the US/UK MDA, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) MDA, and subsequent interaction with the DoD and international cooperative activities under the purview of the Nuclear Weapons Council (NWC).
  • Assists the Chief of JAIEG with monitoring and reviewing work under the MDAs to ensure compliance with laws and agency policies and procedures. Complete ad hoc assignments, as directed, such as qualitative analyses and consultation with technical experts and others to help JAIEG Chief make informed decisions.
  • Provide technical support to JAIEG to assist in fulfilling mission responsibilities for ensuring that the release of warhead-related atomic information to a foreign government or regional defense organization by U.S. government agencies is conducted in accordance with the Atomic Energy Act, any agreements with foreign governments made pursuant to the Atomic Energy Act, and the applicable Statutory Determinations.
  • Maintain continuous close liaison with the NNSA Headquarters, NNSA sites, various offices in the DoD, the British Embassy (Washington), the UK Atomic Control Office (London), and the UK Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE). This coordination ensures that the US commitments of material, data, and documentation provided to the UK are in compliance with US transmissibility and MDA programmatic requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze scientific and technical activities conducted by the DoD, DOE/NNSA within the Joint Working Groups (JOWOGs), Exchanges of Information by Visits and Reports (EIVRs), and Enhanced Collaboration (ECs), or formal Channel structures
  • Develop and provide on-site training to senior officials of DOE and DoD organizations involved in the nuclear weapons complex on protocols and regulations regarding protocols and regulations for exchanging information with the UK and NATO.
  • Maintain and update rules and regulations as required for both the US and UK on the process for transmitting atomic information between countries.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses on large datasets to determine data history and trends.
  • Maintain derivative classification authority and classify documents produced within JAIEG as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active DOE Q or DOD TS clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or similar field.
  • Master’s degree with at least 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Previous experience working with government agencies

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,900.00 - $126,000.00 - $170,100.00
