Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

Your role as an Engineer in the Centralized Engineering group will involve managing third party pole and conduit licensing requests in NJ. This role will oversee the Licensing Administration Group to effectively perform network management responsibilities, drive project completion, and ensure our effectiveness in responding to real-time escalation issues.

  • Managing all incoming third party applications for utility pole attachment and occupancy of telephone conduits across the Verizon footprint in NJ.
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the Licensing Administration Group including guideline development, assignments, and tracking to ensure requests are processed within required timeframes.
  • Working with Outside Plant in addressing and clearing roadblocks on third party construction jobs.
  • Independently organizing and prioritizing multiple assignments and projects, successfully driving them to completion within the required timeframe.
  • Reviewing completed pre-surveys and construction jobs to ensure compliance with NESC standards, adequacy of documentation and performing all reimbursable billing.
  • Providing individual and team training for all key functional duties. Review work of team members and respond to inquiries as needed.
  • Facilitating the execution of various Joint Use agreements necessary to carry out Joint Use activities.

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the Manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings and outside plant records.
  • Experience overseeing a team of unionized employees.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with billing and collections.
  • String organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of pole joint use tracking systems and the pole/conduit permitting process.
  • Knowledge of NESC standards.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
