What you will do

As a Principal Engineer Process in the Process and Technology Development team, you will be responsible for working with both internal and external suppliers to define, optimize and validate processes and will be instrumental to launching new products. You will need to use designed experiments to characterize processes, structured RCA processes to troubleshoot issues and clear communication to represent the team during cross functional reviews.

What you need

  • 8+ years of experience, some of which in a highly regulated industry
  • BS in Engineering or related degree/experience. Advanced degree preferred and may be considered toward years of experience.
  • Experienced in design of experiments, structured problem solving and validation.
  • Ability to develop strategies and execute to plan.
  • Ability to work both independently as an individual contributor as well as lead ​​cross functional teams.

Summary

Designs, validates and brings new products to market. Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety.

Designs, develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials.

Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.


This is a highly specialized individual contributor role that requires deep expertise from a professional / technical thought leader in their respective field or discipline. This position typically requires extensive experience in a specialized field and an advanced college degree or equivalent. As a key expert, the job requires in-depth knowledge and understanding within one discipline. They are regarded within the organization as a technical 'expert' in their particular field. The job requires good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations. The complexity implied at this level of problem solving relates to the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate potentially complex and dynamic material.
