What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is committed to provide the best Omni Channel and personalized experience to its customers over all channels including Digital, Retail and Indirect, and Customer Care. To enable this best-in-class customer experience, we are working on implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and principles across all customer interactions and applications. Time to market has become very critical as new services and features are built. DevOps engineers often need to deploy applications several times a day. They need to collaborate with software developers, system operators and other IT staff members to manage code delivery and releases. They cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing and operations teams.

We are looking for a DevSecOps lead with six years of experience in supporting complex business applications in a large enterprise environment using DevOps/Agile principles, practices and tools. Work on transforming and fully automating CI/CD pipelines end-to-end so that changes can be deployed multiple times per day. Develop automation, governance, repeatability, and security to the software delivery process. Solve system integration challenges for test automation and device a robust feature flagging and rollback strategy.

  • Helping define DevOps Strategy, leading a team that develops DevSecOps framework and practicing all tenets of DevSecOps, enabling the execution of best in class operations practices that could improve efficiency in Software development Life Cycle.
  • Executing on our vision for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), experience in supporting complex business applications in a large enterprise environment using DevOps/Agile principles, practices and tools.
  • Working on transforming and fully automating CI/CD pipelines end-to-end so that changes can be deployed multiple times per day.
  • Developing automation, governance, repeatability, and security to the software delivery process. Solving system integration challenges for test automation and device a robust feature flagging and rollback strategy.
  • Automating day-to-day functions such as deployment, rollbacks, build of code and provisioning infrastructure, failovers etc.
  • Interfacing directly with senior staff members within the organization to discuss and assess compliance with IT policies, standards and procedures, suggest opportunities for improvement, and report on the status of specific.
  • Working with cross-functional teams on EKS migration, environment builds, deployment automation, and monitoring.
  • Providing problem resolution and troubleshoot critical system issues with quick turnaround. Taking ownership of support issues until resolution.

What we’re looking for...

We are looking for an experienced DevOps professional to join our growing organization. In this position, you will manage infrastructure projects and processes. You have keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and solid knowledge base.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience in applications development, infrastructure, or database architectures.
  • Experience with software development, software delivery lifecycle, application modernization, DevOps, Service/Infrastructure as Service and Operations.
  • Hands-on experience supporting, automating, and optimizing mission critical deployments in AWS, leveraging configuration management, CI/CD, and DevOps processes.
  • In depth hands-on CI/CD experience on environment build automation, Jenkins, Cloud Formation, Ansible, Kubernetes, docker, Artifactory, Python, Gitlab and microservices framework.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Ruby, Perl, Java, Python and PHP.
  • Experience in Systems Architecture, In-depth knowledge of DevOps, SRE concepts and tools, Coding and Scripting experience with Java, JavaScript, python and .NET

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, Master’s degree.
  • Experience in branching, merging, maintaining code using SCM tools like Git and GitHub.
  • Deep understanding of microservice architecture patterns, cloud technologies and implementation experience with Kubernetes and Docker microservices containerization platform.
  • Experience in vendor management.
  • Experience in IT Security and compliance, operations and network services, and application development.
  • Automation experience and ability to code or script at an advance level.
  • Configuration Management with Gitlab, Artifactory, Ansible or Python.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
  • Capabilities including team collaboration, support, maintenance, and implementation.
  • Experience with creating and improving documented procedures and/or playbooks.
  • Knowledge with open-source configuration, orchestration, and CI/CD.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience with Microservices platform.
  • Problem solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
