What you’ll be doing...

The Federal Principal Lifecycle Engineer will provide the primary interface to the Prime Contractor, Vendors, as well as the Program Lead for Verizon’s workshare. This role requires understanding of the Systems Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) Productivity Services. Supervise inputs to multiple Vendors transition status reports and participate in daily transition meetings. Single POC for issues ordering Verizon provisioned CLINs for VOIP/VTC/UC services, managing SLRs, and all other issues associated with transitioning Verizon’s workshare under the new contract. This role requires an active government sponsored Secret security clearance.

You will provide oversight for the O&M transition of VOIP/VTC backend infrastructure serving 3000 VoIP/VoSIP handsets and 1150 VTC endpoints. This includes managing the site surveys of Navy-owned backend infrastructure performed by a Vendor in 6 locations and oversight of all due-diligence interactions with the government customer and incumbent contractor. Ensure the establishment of acceptance criteria with government, conduct operational demonstration of all service requirements, and complete the Readiness to Cutover Report. Oversee the onboarding of incumbent contract personnel across multiple locations including Norfolk, San Diego, and Hawaii and hiring of any new personnel to fill gaps in required staffing. Interface with Vendors and other principle subs for VTC endpoints and service desk as required.

  • Provide oversight for the management of hiring and onboarding of all contract personnel using the Vendors Frontier tool. This requires very close coordination with the Verizon vendors. Ensure that all positions are filled to meet requirements of the labor categories and have required certifications.
  • Provide service delivery oversight of the VoIP/VTC O&M service. Participate in Vendors improvement process activities.
  • Participate in modernization design, planning and execution activities.
  • Deliver inputs to required CDRL reporting and program management reviews with government.
  • Interface with Vendors service delivery manager for SMIT productivity services and other subs as required.
  • Support meetings with government customer regarding Verizon workshare areas.
  • Monitor SLR reporting. Manage growth of the service and ensure that staffing is able to meet all requirements.
  • Provide support to customer cybersecurity activities such as cybersecurity inspections and incident response.
  • Ensure the VTC operations team is responsive to VTC scheduling requests.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.This role can be located in other valid Verizon locations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCIE) R&S, Data Center or equivalent experience with certification completion in progress.
  • Experience in Routing and Switching protocols like BGP and Data Center devices.
  • Experience in MPLS technologies in a large-scale Service Provider and/or core IP network environment.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communication and Collaboration solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft servers and applications including: Windows Server, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Active Directory, and ADFS.
  • Experience in scripting knowledge.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government sponsored DoD SECRET security clearance.
  • Currently hold an active DoD SECRET security clearance.
  • Relevant certifications including ITIL, VMWare, Cisco IOS & QoS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with general IT concepts beyond primary discipline.
