We are in search of an experienced Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer to join our task force. You will be based in Whiteley with expected travel to across different Leidos sites.

We are seeking an experienced Support engineer with exposure to a suite of monitoring and maintenance utilities primarily CA Spectrum. Where this will become the core utility for estate availability reporting.

We pride our success on teamwork and close collaboration with colleagues and our customer in an exciting and defence environment delivering technical service in a dynamic ITIL environment.

Role Description:

The engineers responsibilities include:

  • Work as part of a dedicated team to define network and server infrastructure monitoring across a large and diverse infrastructure

  • Assist in creating CMDB Service Models

  • Help define monitoring strategy and roadmap creation to deliver

  • Proactive review and response including interaction with the Client.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic agile team

  • Using the customers Case management system Service now.

  • Ability to follow documentation and processes.

  • Ability to update documentation when necessary.

  • Production of implementation and rollout plans.

  • Production of test plans and test procedures.

  • Test execution of build to confirm fit for purpose.

  • Handover/training of support staff post implementation.

Required experience and competencies:

  • Experience of large, diverse IT infrastructures and/or network from operational or support roles

  • IT Service Management background, ideally ITIL, with strong comprehension of Configuration Management

  • Monitoring tools experience such as Opsview, Nagios, Splunk and HP Oneview

  • Network Monitoring tools such as Solarwinds and CA Spectrum

  • Understanding and configuring SNMP / MIB's

  • WoRking with and understanding Event Management data

  • Ability to work in a dynamic agile team

  • Experience in ITIL ICT service delivery on critical infrastructure

  • Excellent communications skills, organisational skills and independent and autonomous working

  • Experience of working under pressure to meet deadlines while handling multiple priorities

  • People skills: able to motive, influence and drive individuals both inside and outside of their direct management

  • Provide up to date and accurate reporting to program and customer

  • Demonstrable ability to adapt to new technologies, skillsets and to learn quickly.

  • The actual work you will perform consists of a blend of operational support alongside the specification and implementation of new network infrastructure as part of a large, diverse, skilled and collaborative team. Occasional travel to other Leidos and customer sites may be required. Keeping an eye on the technology landscape is essential, too – identification of new and relevant technologies to solve problems and make improvements is part of the job. Salary Range:

  • £38,000 - £48,000 p/a, with potential to increase for truly exceptional performance at assessment
