What you’ll be doing...

You will be playing the role of Solution/System Architect for 5G Fixed Wireless Access Field Ops ART to support the installation and repair of 5G Internet products for Verizon residential, small/medium/enterprise/public sector business customers.

As a Solution Architect, you will engage at all levels with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff. You will be solving deep technical problems and building innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment working with smart and passionate team members. Your responsibilities will include owning the overarching solution, working closely with software engineering teams to bridge key technical relationships, and driving projects towards success.

You will work closely with product, marketing, device technology, network operations, customer experience/support organizations and IT partners to define the roadmap, architecture and solution for new system capabilities, build scalable services, and influence the 5G Fixed Access FieldOps strategy. You’ll be a technical leader responsible to establish technical standards and drive engineering practices. You’ll work on building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with Verizon business needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the quality of architecture and design of systems.
  • Decomposing complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
  • Understanding system interdependencies and limitations.
  • Possessing expert knowledge in performance, scalability, mobile application architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Assisting in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation & stay current/ahead with emerging technologies and take rational risk in implementing those technologies.
  • Exerting technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
  • Performing Solution Engineering of strategic and tactical projects related to 5G, C-Band,LTE Internet.
  • Working within guidelines of SOE, SRE & Architecture principles laid out by the Network Systems Architecture team.
  • Troubleshooting, upgrading, administering the platforms.
  • Maintaining and develop automation tools using various programming languages on Unix/Linux based platforms.
  • Partnering with SDO's and Universities.
  • Taking ownership of issues and drive them to resolution.

Where you will be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in leading software developers, systems or process analysts using RDMBS, NoSQL, OpenAPI, FullStack development experience on a Unix/Linux based platform.
  • Knowledge of DevOps Tools and latest technology trends.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master’s degree.
  • Five or more years of experience in Information Technology as enterprise/solutions architect, or systems analyst role in Telecommunication.
  • Experience in mobility platforms to perform field installations and repairs.
  • Knowledge of 5G and LTE architecture.
  • Experience in leader of technical development and support team.
  • Develop automated creation tools using various programming languages such as React JS, Node JS, React Native, Java, SQL, and Python.
