Leidos is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support the Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J) Software Sustainment and Modernization program.

GCCS-J is the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Command and Control (C2) system of record for achieving full spectrum dominance. The GCCS-J system is a suite of mission applications that provides critical joint warfighting C2 capabilities and is the principal foundation for dominant battlespace awareness, providing an integrated, near real-time picture of the battlespace necessary to conduct joint and multinational operations. GCCS-J provides a robust and seamless C2 capability to the Commander-in-Chief (CINC), Secretary of Defense (SECDEF), National Military Command Center (NMCC), Combatant Commanders (CCDRs), Joint Force Commanders, and Service Component Commanders. GCCS-J offers vital connectivity to the systems the joint warfighter uses to plan, execute, and manage military operations.

We are expecting award in early Fall 2022.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Works with the Chief Engineer and GCCS-J team to maintain the current client-server environment while moving the system to a cloud-based architecture and modernize the system to comply with a Joint Staff Capability Development Document.

• Manages Cloud requirements analysis, conceptual design, detailed design, and implementation of a cloud project.

• Assists in the migration of a cloud effort.

• Generates requisite cloud documentation.

• Generates customer design review materials and present at customer design reviews.

• Has strong understanding of Cloud information flows and process architecture necessary for implementation of cloud security.

• Uses information technology to plan, prepare, and execute cloud related security tasks.

• Prepares and reviews Cloud security architecture.

• Applies knowledge of Cloud security requirements, documentation, and risk mitigation strategies

• Develops Cloud design documentation.

• Implements Cloud security policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 – 4 years of experience; or a Master’s degree with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

• Cloud Engineering experience in a software development environment.

• Good verbal and written skills.

• Demonstrates strong work ethic, works well within an engineering team, mission oriented, and takes personal pride in work.

• Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

• US citizenship with active active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years of cloud engineering experience in a software development environment.

• Industry certification is desirable.

• Experience in DoD and military software development environment is desired.

• Familiarity with GCCS-J Family of Systems is a plus.
