What you’ll be doing...

Transactional Communications are a critical part of the customer experience at Verizon. They provide confirmations, deliver information about products and services, and generally serve as a guide for the customer throughout their lifetime at Verizon. These high-volume communications lower call volumes, drive revenue, improve the customer experience and increase loyalty. Working on Transactional Communications is one of the best ways to understand the inner workings of Verizon.

This role will be part of a world-class communications team responsible for designing, developing and managing Transactional Communications using the Adobe Experience Manager platform. As an AEM Communications developer, you will be part of a dynamic and vibrant Marketing team that is passionate about the customer experience. Our passion is exhibited through the communications we create for our customers as part of their end-to-end journey with Verizon.

  • Applying JavaScript, EJS, HTML, CSS, and/or other skills to design and build outbound communications that meet business requirements utilizing the AEM platform and customized components.
  • Advising and partnering with internal marketing teams to develop communication solutions and refine business requirements.
  • Providing Adobe AEM subject matter expertise to Marketing teams.
  • Providing advice on existing template functionality and develop solutions regarding how best to support new business requirements.
  • Solving problems under pressure and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Testing solutions developed and work with UAT/QA teams to validate any content or template changes.
  • Maintaining template integrity by troubleshooting any template defects or issues.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

This position requires technical programming competency (JavaScript, EJS, HTML, CSS, and/or similar) in a communications environment, and the ability to work with and advise teams across Marketing and the enterprise such as communication campaign managers, delivery managers, and IT/GTS to create the best possible communications experience. The position requires proficiency with the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) application where communications will be built and housed. You can thrive in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing and collaborate with others to meet business needs. You welcome new challenges, is dedicated to and takes pride in their daily work. You are not only accomplished in the functional capabilities of AEM, but also has an eye for well-designed communication, and has an interest in and an ability to advise the Marketing team on how the solutions we build can help them achieve their objectives.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years of relevant front-end development experience.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Campaign.
  • Experience in one or more of the following languages and technologies: JavaScript, EJS, HTML, CSS, XML, and JSON.
  • Experience building emails or web pages in a CMS environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one of the following:

  • AEM Certification.
  • Email marketing experience.
  • Experience with personalization and targeting tools.
  • Experience working with content management systems or software.
  • Experience with AEM Experience Fragments.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An eagerness for learning and an abundance of curiosity.
