Leidos's Military & Bio-behavioral Research Health Group is currently seeking a full time Veterinarian Technician to support research at the Navy Medical Research Unit - San Antonio
Primary Responsibilities:
a. Conduct and support surgical procedure, operating room maintenance, animal disease prevention and health surveillance, appropriate animal housing, record keeping, insuring specific pathogen free techniques.
b. Daily handling and restraint of various small and large animal species.
c. Maintain traffic patterns, sterile equipment, pest control, quality assurance procedures and record keeping.
d. Conduct daily and weekly inspections or areas of contractor responsibility to ensure compliance with standards.
e. Assist in preparation of purchase requests for animal procurement and coordination of shipping procedures.
f. Assist in preparation of purchase requests and assist with maintenance of inventory of supplies.
g. Coordinate animal research work activities between contractor Research Scientist, animal care staff, and research laboratory technicians.
h. Provide additional functionality incidental to research activities.
Education and experience requirements:
High School Diploma and at least 1 year of experience
Certification, Registration or license as Vet Tech
Must have or be able to obtain Secret U.S. Government Clearance to be hired.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $36,400.00 - $56,000.00 - $75,600.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
