What you’ll be doing...

You will contribute towards operating and supporting Cloud and DevOps Platform based Products/Services for mission and business-critical applications within Verizon. Under the mentorship of principal applications staff, you will work as a senior team member on various products.

  • Provisioning, deploying and configuring AWS and on premises application as per solution architecture using CI/CD automation.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities continuously to manage, troubleshoot and automate fixes for AWS and on premises apps.
  • Providing inputs to AWS solution architecture and driving implementation of it with the team.
  • Monitoring product health daily and after software releases.
  • Automating AWS resource provisioning, application deployment and configuration for target state architecture using CI/CD.
  • Creating automation to manage and monitor AWS environments for cost overruns, security vulnerabilities, andgovernance requirements.
  • Monitoring and managing AWS and on premises applications.
  • Troubleshooting production issues and providingautomated fixes, where possible, to reduce manual burden.
  • Creating and managing AMI's for AWS and imaging on premises servers.
  • Creating and managing AWS Kubernetes clusters.
  • Creating and managing centralized logging and monitoring infrastructure on premises and AWS.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with SRE practices.
  • Experience with Bash and scripting languages such as Python/Perl.
  • Experience designing and collaborating with senior design/architects.
  • Experience with a high-performance, high-availability environment development.
  • Two or more years of experience managing DevOps products (e.g., Gitlab, Jira, Jenkins, Artifactory).
  • Four or more years of experience with AWS.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Technology and Cloud certifications.
  • AWS certified SysOps Administrator Associate certification.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional certification.
  • Kubernetes cluster management experience (installing, configuring, securing, upgrading, scaling, managing, monitoring).
  • Operational knowledge of AWS EKS, ECS, Fargate, and Lambda services.
  • Experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments.
  • Experience with the AWS CLI and SDKs/API tools.
  • Experience with IT DevOps tooling and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with system configuration frameworks such as Chef.
