What you’ll be doing...

The EdgeAI Team in Network Systems-Service Assurance is seeking a Full Stack Developer with strong technical leadership to ensure delivery of a highly available and scalable platform across multiple NEC/Data Centers. In this role, you are expected to engineer, enable the technical solutions on the EdgeAI Platform to deliver real-time streaming and high volume batch processing applications that model real-world network entities.

This platform requires knowledge of distributed Kubernetes administration, enabling Grafana dashboards for real-time monitoring, automating the ElasticSearch across the different Data Centers, setting up and administering the User/Application level access/authentication to just name a few. The solutions will be serving 5G, 4G, MEC, and wireline programs encompassing sensitive and high volume data. Hence, it requires deep understanding and expertise about the various software components, network topologies, scalability, high availability and related design considerations and optimizations.

The platform solutions you develop and manage will be used by several application teams as well by Verizon network engineers across the country.

  • Working on and owning solution design and leading the Platform Enablement that supports near real-time application development.
  • Collaborating closely with the development teams & network performance community, gathering requirements and seeking iterative feedback on recently delivered platform features.
  • Composing detailed low-level design documentation, call flows and architecture diagrams for the technical solutions you build.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in K8S administration.
  • Two or more years of experience in supporting streamlining applications in Spark, Flink, Kafka, etc.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Highly proficient in computer science fundamentals.
  • Experience with Application Development DevOps Tools.
  • Experience with administering distributed cloud-native applications deployed on Kubernetes platforms.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently on multiple high priority projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-visibility, complex technical solutions.
  • Experience with integrating streaming message bus platforming, either Kafka or Pulsar.
  • Experience with integrating Apache Spark applications and Hadoop platforms on to K8S.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Writing and oral communication skills.
  • Innate curiosity and passion for learning wireless technology, K8S.

If you are hired into a California work location, the compensation range for this position is between $132,000 and $245,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
