Job Summary

Amentum is seeking an Information Technology Specialist at Fort Bragg, NC to maintain the IT Infrastructure and assist the Primary Instructors during course instruction modules, including but not limited to Cyber Operations, IEEE 802.11 Wireless, Vulnerability Analysis, and Digital Force Protection.

Being action-oriented and open-minded, you are ready and willing to problem-solve on your own, bringing to the table your experience with Active Directory security, Application security, intrusion detection and prevention, and network architecture. You're well-versed in general system administration principles including operating system configuration for Linux, Apple, and Windows systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Installs, configures, and troubleshoots computer networks and associated assemblies.
  • Installs, modify, and make minor repairs to microcomputer hardware and software systems and provide technical assistance and training to system users.

The normal duty hours are Monday through Friday 0800 to 1700 hour except Federal Holidays, unless otherwise specified due to mission requirements. During training, the work day could last up to 10 hours per day (frequently more than 40 hours a week) to include some weekends and federal holidays. However, this may vary depending on the Government or course requirements. You'll support Amentum’s efforts on the Government site to provide specialized training in support of military personnel.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Networking, Cyber Security, Information Systems Management or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience as administrator of a network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technologies experience and knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) certification and accreditation processes
  • Possess an Information Security certification in one of the following: Security + or Security+ CE, CISSP, CASP+, CISA, CISM, NSA-IAM/IEM, CCISO, CAP, GSLC, and/or GISF
  • Ability to work with local and remote IT staff/management, vendors, and consultants
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information or files, protecting these items against compromise
  • Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance
  • You will need to complete a knowledge test at the government site during the interview process to assess your qualifications for this role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer an Industry certification (e.g. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)) or proof of equivalent training
  • Understanding of the following:
    • SIEM (ArcSight, IBM Qradar, McAfee NitroSecurity, etc.) solutions, forensic analysis tools (MIR, EnCase, FTK)
    • Malware analysis tools (dynamic and static), vulnerability assessment tools (Qualys, ISS Scanner, Nmap, Nessus, Nexpose etc.)
    • Secure Web Gateway solutions, network sniffers and packet tracing tools (DSS, Ethereal and tcpdump, WireShark)
    • Intrusion Detection & Prevention Tools such as SNORT/Sourcefire, Palo Alto, etc.), encryption technologies (PGP, PKI and X.509)
    • Experience with network architecture, including network security
  • Experience with primary commercial operating systems (Windows, Apple, Linux) and Hypervisors
  • Experience with Active Directory security, including scans, best practices, and security configuration
  • Experience with Application Security controls including design, dynamic scans, and static code analysis
  • Experience with Incident Responses process, procedures, and Tools
  • Experience with standard technical writing tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products, and setting up remote access for users
  • Understanding of the role of firewalls, infrastructure, devices, intrusion detection systems, virtual private networks, routers, and guards in enclave boundary protection
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of the underlying protocols and data used as the basis for the security monitoring service, including: HTTP, HTTPS, SQL, TCP/IP, Active Directory, application and database security experience, including code reviews
  • Experience using Virtualization technologies, specifically, VMWare, Virtual Box, ESXi, VSphere, V-Center Server, Dockers, and LXC
  • Experience in Cloud technologies like Linode, Vultr, and Digital Ocean
  • ARSOF experience
  • Ability to work with self-initiative to accomplish identified tasks
  • Ability to follow project schedules and meet designated completion dates
  • Ability to work alone as well in team and possess strong analytical skills
  • Possess highly developed verbal and written communications skills
