No

Richmond, Virginia, United States

When you join Verizon

Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect across the globe. We’re a diverse network of people driven by our shared ambition to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is investing in its network to improve the way we live, work, and communicate. Our network transformation will be critical for all our future connectivity businesses including new products such as IoT, 5G, and future smart cities.

Project managers help build the foundation that keeps us in front of the competition. This project manager role will be responsible for end-to-end implementation of network initiatives, in particular the C-Band program and upgrades to existing macro cell sites. You will be working with all stakeholders within the Network organization, and collaborating with other business teams and external vendors. Project managers are expected to use their leadership qualities to effectively direct resources according to priorities, to meet challenging deployment targets, to ensure data integrity for reporting purposes, and to identify and implement improvements to how we manage large and complex projects and programs. You will need to establish and meet milestones and timelines, provide direction to peers on other teams as to project priorities, communicate clearly across teams and functions, proactively take action, and follow through.

  • Manage projects from the real estate process through to integration, to maximize monthly project completions.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and set priorities for multiple internal and external teams.
  • Advise and work with other team members and other teams to identify and implement improvements to processes.
  • Address issues, including working with other team members and other teams to find solutions.
  • Report to leadership, and ensure data integrity in HQ reports and in FUZE.

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’re an experienced project manager – organized, efficient, and detail oriented with the ability to see the big picture. You can work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, even in challenging situations. You’re driven to solve problems and overcome hurdles, and you approach every situation with a can-do, team-player attitude.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in managing large cross-functional programs.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Four or more years of experience in Wireless/Cellular/Telecom technologies.
  • Three or more years of experience in managing large cross-functional or enterprise-wide programs.
  • Experience using FUZE, Tableau, and the full suite of Microsoft Office.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification
  • Knowledge of VCP and VRAN
  • Experience making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements.
  • Ability to be resilient and tenacious during tough assignments.
  • Ability to understand a project’s technical breadth.
  • Knowledge with a variety of network concepts, best practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every "even better" qualification listed above.
