We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager, to work alongside the Senior Programme Manager for our Government client. Supporting a multi-functional team and to manage the scheduling of project delivery, change and new business. This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have DV clearance or be willing to undergo the clearance process.

The role will be embedded in the PITSM programme Team supporting the development & transition to in-service running (inc capability upgrades) of many IT applications and Network solutions providing support to a critical operational end user.

You will be self-motivated and be able to work autonomously and also within a team on site environment to achieve day to day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables, whilst also owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with project milestones and customer KPI’s and SLA’s. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to project and technical challenges.

The role will require working on secure Government sites up to 3-4 days per week. You will be expected to contribute towards the creation and ongoing management of project and technical documentation and, while primarily supporting the development activities also be able to support change projects if required.

The Project Manager’s duties and responsibilities include ensuring teams meet all scope requirements by completing jobs properly according to their contract or agreement with the client. In addition, they must provide concrete guidance on what everyone needs to do and the most efficient way to complete each step.

Work will be on customer sites (West London) with occasional travel to other Leidos and customer sites (Farnborough, Huntington) may be required. Managing and solving day to day project problems and make improvements is part of the job. Your Role and Responsibilities;

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation

  • Liaise with Scrum Masters

  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs

  • Report and escalate to management as needed

  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

  • We are looking for someone with excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills who has:

Favorable If You Have;

  • Proven track record in successfully delivering projects or task work packages.

  • Able to demonstrate experience (minimum 3 years) in Project Management.

  • Experience in SAFe Agile and Waterfall models of delivery cycles

  • Good interpersonal skills and judgement for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders to develop strong working relations to support achieving objectives.

  • Ability to engage and work within a multi-functional programme team comprising both customer, supplier and internal staff with an awareness of engineering principles.

  • Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of business, finance and personnel management techniques and the commercial aspects of projects.

  • The ability to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively.

  • Enthusiastic self-starter with good verbal communication

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
