The technology team supporting Virtual Learning is seeking a Project Manager to help drive business growth through technology, with a focus on stakeholder management, building relationships across numerous functions within Pearson and outsourced third parties, being instrumental in the software development life cycle (SDLC) and driving the processes around budgets, invoicing and vendor management. The right person will be a high-performing, hands-on project manager experienced in technology and transformation projects.

Primary Areas of Focus:

  • Project management and delivery of key technology initiatives for the Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS) division of Virtual Learning
  • Coordinating with solution architects, business analysts, development teams and business stakeholders to manage all of the steps needed to take a vision and execute on it
  • Refine and continually improve communication, project reporting and KPIs/metrics to give clearer visibility to executive leadership within the organization
  • Manage dependencies with other programs and platforms, reducing and/or removing barriers to progress

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Project management experience, with a background in technology and an understanding of Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies
  • Open, positive attitude promoting confidence and credibility to peers, stakeholders and all levels of management
  • Excellent organization, communication, team building, networking and facilitation skills, having an ability to positively influence others and resolve conflict
  • Flexibility and adaptability when working in an environment of ongoing change, adjusting approach and style as needed
  • A global perspective, with understanding of and empathy for global and regional dynamics
  • Understanding of how to work across a complex matrixed organization and manage ambiguity and conflicting priorities
  • Presents and collaborates with various technology teams, including enterprise architecture, ERP, marketing, CRM, data, etc...
  • Effectively uses tools such as Microsoft Office, JIRA and Smartsheet, and the ability to work between various technologies as needed
  • Has a degree or equivalent work experience
  • Acts ethically in all situations
  • Embraces diversity

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Has led global business and technology transformation programs
  • Project management certification
  • Salesforce experience

The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $90-120K. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
