What you’ll be doing...

The position of Senior Manager-Network Engineering is responsible for the leadership of a team of employees that manage the engineering, operations, and tenant operations functions for Global Network Management-vNOE Application platforms.

  • Providing IMS Core and VoLTE call processing for the Visible Service.
  • Working for Current and Future NAAS (network as a service) Core deployments, virtual Nokia SDM 4G IMS core deployments for Comcast and Charter MVNO’s, future 5G core deployments.
  • Driving vendors to deliver virtualized software that is designed to take advantage of cloud capabilities in support of platform migrations to Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP).
  • Distributing workload and developmental responsibilities to ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner and does not negatively impact existing services when executed.
  • Managing employee performance in a timely and consistent fashion per company policies and practices.
  • Working with internal Verizon groups to develop and complete design, sizing, and call flow models.
  • Maintaining ongoing technical and process expertise, with the Network Repair Bureau, Network Management Center, IT, HQ Planning, Network Implementation, Maintenance Engineering, Marketing, Device and System Performance, and the Field teams.
  • Interpreting business strategy, including architecture design, to improve network applications in collaboration with other business departments across Verizon.
  • Providing direction and manage vendors.
  • Providing input on product roadmaps and key performance indicators (KPIs).

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in Project management.
  • Knowledge of LTE, IMS, VoLTE call flows.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, Network Functions Virtualized (NFV), and Software Defined Networks (SDN).
  • Knowledge of Network KPI tools including Netscout, SevOne, and IrisView.
  • Certification in Linux, OpenStack, Database Admin, Cloud Security or equivalent.
  • Experience in Budget Management.
  • Knowledge of design principles of OpenStack architecture and how networking operates in an OpenStack cloud.
  • Experience in Python, Ansible or other tools.
  • Experience in technology and management skills and abilities.
