What you’ll be doing...

The Sr. Engineer Specialist (formally Member of the Technical Staff IV) will function as a Tenant/DevOps contributing member who will provide operational guidance to our ever-evolving applications. This team owns/operates key subsystems that are pivotal to the IMS registration process. These subsystems includes the: Home Subscriber Server (HSS), Authentication Authorization and Accounting (AAA), Home Location Register (HLR), and NetAct Element Management Systems. Soft skills are essential to this position, as vendor management/engagement will be a primary task. In addition, knowledge of Cloud Transformation technologies are essential to this position as we evolve into a cloud native application. The Sr. Engineer Specialist will interact with internal and external stakeholders, and will provide leading support for internal personnel. Being a point of contact for any customer related events is critical, as on-call rotation is required. The potential candidate must be organized, aggressive, and determined in ensuring the integrity and health of the SDM platform is available for our customers.

  • Providing essential call flow analysis coupled with engineering, and operational support for the IMS Core Subscriber Data Management (SDM) team.
  • Performing operational level administrative functions using: Linux/OpenStack/Application Deployment/Programming/DB Administration skillsets.
  • Creating and/or follow established policies and procedures for making changes.
  • Engaging vendors, other platforms owners, and various support teams to quickly resolve issues.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to work on-call rotating schedule (shifts) including nights, based on the needs of the business.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Certification in Linux, OpenStack, Database Admin, Cloud Security.
  • Knowledge of design principles of OpenStack architecture and how networking operates in an OpenStack cloud.
  • Experience in Openstack/Cloud tenant operational.
  • Knowledge of LTE Registration, IMS Registration, and VoLTE call flows.
  • Ability to quickly analyze situations, identify problems, and provide solutions.
  • Ability to lead and drive meetings to desired outcomes.
  • Experience in Python, Ansible or other tools.
  • Experience in performance tuning, software/hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, Netmask, DIAMETER, SIP, LDAP and load balancing.
  • Knowledge of protocol analysis tools such as IrisView, NetScout, Wireshark, tcpdump, ping, netstat.
  • Experience in working with high availability and disaster recovery solution.
