What you’ll be doing...

As a Distinguished/technical Architect, you’ll play a critical, client-facing role that interacts with multiple application teams with the goal of creating the next generation architecture in service of Verizon customers. The architect will facilitate collaboration sessions and ensure consistency and alignment across Enterprise from both a technical and process alignment perspective. You will be responsible for working on efforts linked to the Verizon Business group (VBG) initiatives. The candidate will specifically be engaged in driving large E2E solutions for new initiatives impacting customer experience in Enterprise, Wholesale, Business Market and Wireless B2B stacks.Familiarity with business group Ordering, Contracting, Billing, Case management and other strategic systems is a plus. This position requires design and architecture efforts across multiple functional teams to analyze the requirements and define the end-to-end architecture and get it implemented, tested and deployed. The candidate will need to regularly interface with senior management and executive level clients to ensure architectural decisions align with business directions

  • Working with development and cross functional teams in coming up with the optimal network architecture.
  • Deliver in a timely manner in order to help reduce operational costs and drive efficiencies in the user experience.
  • Defining and own Solution Architecture from definition phase to go-live phase
  • Responsible for technology selection, assessment, technical evaluation of architecture alternatives and recommending solutions that are simple, scalable and sustainable and above all secure.
  • Ensure solutions align with other Verizon units creating a transparent user experience
  • Design and develop a reference implementation for an enterprise scale architecture that can assist development teams across multiple organizations.
  • Responsible for overall Architecture and evolution of next gen platforms
  • Research the existing application footprint and recommend solutions to run application workloads with futuristic Architecture.
  • Leverage emerging technologies in the architectural solutions, working closely with the development teams and providing hands-on support.
  • Defining reusable components/frameworks, common schemas, standards to be used & tools to be used and help bootstrap the engineering team.
  • Defining and reviewing the micro-services strategy for the organization.
  • Delivering Solutions with the organization priorities like Being Data Driven, In Sourcing, and Cloud First approach incorporated.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy and work closely with our IT and Business partners to evaluate a wide range of architectural solutions and determine short and long term tradeoffs between architectural alternatives, adoption strategies and any technical debt.
  • Present to executives, build camaraderie with business leaders, and inspire technologists to buy in.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Digital dotcom channels experience.
  • Architectural Patterns, Containerization, DevOps pipelines, Performance Engineering, Fault Tolerance & Load Balancing concepts experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Masters degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Experience in Telecom Industry Enterprise Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Wireless B2B, VES, VPS, VBM organizations.
  • Experience with emerging technologies and tools; Chat Bots, AI and ML, ETL tools, Data Lakes, Hadoop, JavaScript & React Native
  • Experience in defining and driving Cloud migration and strategy.
  • Experience with AI and Machine Learning.
  • Experience business intelligence technologies, Data analysis
  • Experience in articulating the business drives and architectural approach/trade-offs during discussions for solution.
  • Ability to create system and process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence and UML diagrams, inter and intra system dependencies within the functional domain and across them.
  • Ability to facilitate group meetings/discussions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
