The National Security Sector at Leidos is currently hiring for a Software Automated Test/QA Engineer for an Agile, cloud-based data, and analytics platform contract. The Software Automated Test/QA Engineer will be responsible for development and maintenance of automation test scripts and test reporting for tools using both manual testing and industry standard automation test suites. The testing process will follow an agile development and release process that supports critical customer mission goals using manual and automated testing techniques and tools. This role is expected to be on-site at a Leidos facility in Gaithersburg, MD, with travel to various government sites in the Washington Metro Area. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work independently, or with a team of software and systems engineers; must be knowledgeable in industry-standard testing tools and methodologies.
  • Edit, create, maintain, and debug automated test scripts written in Python, assist with creation of test plans, procedures and reports detailing the test process and infrastructure to appropriately assess that products/deliverables meet defined requirements.
  • Edit and run automated test scripts, and create automated and manual test scripts for processes that are not yet automated.
  • Maintain and enhance automated test scripts, as needed.
  • Establish the test approach and defect tracking workflow (primarily automated tests, augmented with manual tests when necessary) for multiple development scrum teams.
  • Contribute to the scrum teams, participate in daily scrums, and be proactive on work tasks and obstacle resolution.
  • Must be a dynamic, innovative, self-starting problem solver that can operate with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate, coordinate, and build relationships with customer representatives and external stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple assignments and work independently with minimal oversight.

What does Leidos need from me?

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have a Green Card.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance (Background Investigation).
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline with a minimum of four to eight years prior experience or Masters with a minimum of two to six years of prior experience.
  • Experience with software testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Axe, Katalon, Cypress, WorldSpace Comply, DHS Trusted Tester, Jaws, or similar).
  • Experience with 508-compliance, adherence to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Agile workload management and bug tracking (e.g. Jira, BitBucket, or similar).
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of scripting and programming in current languages (e.g., Python, Java, C, C++, C#, Assembly, etc.).

Favorable if you have:

  • Organizing/supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) prior to Production deployment.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools.
  • Negative testing concepts and risk assessment reporting.
  • Understanding of Security Product and Firewall configurations.
  • Code quality scans (e.g., SonarQube).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
