Today, Electronic Warfare (EW) is a growing enterprise - protecting the warfighter and our national security against ever-adapting threats. The Leidos Innovations Center (LInC) at Leidos currently has an opening for a software engineer to support an exciting new program in San Diego which utilizes novel machine learning concepts and techniques to advance the state of the art. As part of our team, you will get to work alongside scientists and experts in advanced signal processing, machine learning, and software implementation to help grow your own knowledge and career.
Regular tasks will include:
Contributing to the design and development of advanced systems as a part of a multi-disciplinary team. The team is made up of other software engineers and subject matter experts from the areas of systems engineering, machine learning, signal processing.
Designing, implementing, and testing real-time C/C++ software for multi-core systems running Linux or a real-time operating system
Reading and understanding signal processing algorithms written in MATLAB
Implementing advanced signal processing and machine learning algorithms for processing large volumes of RF data
Optimizing software for high-volume data analysis, real-time processing throughput, and robust performance on advanced hardware platforms.
Programming in languages such as MATLAB, C/C++, Python
Analyzing existing algorithms and software to develop improvements in fidelity, sensitivity, and efficiency
Providing robust, scalable, configured software solutions in full-stack software development and deployment environments
Designing, implementing, and testing software to interface with RF hardware devices
Participating in lab-based and field testing
Basic Qualifications
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field w/ 2+ years’ experience.
Required on-site full-time work in San Diego, CA
Secret clearance with ability to obtain top secret clearance
Demonstrated experience in software development and deployment
Experience with C/C++, Python, MATLAB programming languages
Advanced knowledge of the Linux operating system as well as experience with real-time operating systems
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication
Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
Ability to adapt to new challenges with a strong motivation to grow and learn in new areas
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field, with 3-5 years’ experience
Task lead or team leadership experience
Strong understanding of machine learning frameworks and experience with Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence algorithms and libraries, such as TensorFlow
Experience with MATLAB GPU computing
Basic understanding of RF front end design
Demonstrated experience in software development, spanning algorithm implementation, C/C++ coding and debugging, configuration and deployment, and throughput optimization
Understanding of high performance computing implementations for signal detection and feature classification
Experience working in areas of modeling and simulation (M&S), radar, adaptive radar, signals processing, algorithm development, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) or similar fields
