What you’ll be doing...

Join Verizon in this position which expands our cloud security development team with a role emphasis on software engineering. This exciting growth opportunity shall act within an existing development team focused on cloud security initiatives and in-house application design. The candidate shall be responsible for implementing new features, working with stakeholders to understand and gather requirements and troubleshooting production bugs among other tasks. This opportunity is on a team that is highly visible and plays a major role in advancing our security posture.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology or related field.
  • Strong general system administration skills and comfort on the command line.
  • Strong experience with PHP, Python OR MySQL.
  • Experience writing and interfacing REST APIs and API driven application ecosystems.
  • Firm understanding of software engineering lifecycle tools (JIRA, Git, Jenkins).
  • Experience with deploying applications in a Unix-based environment.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and private or public cloud products.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and how virtualization technologies impact application delivery.
