Description

The Defense Group at Leidos, supporting the Overlord / Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel (O/MUSV) Program, is seeking a Field Operations / Engineering Tech to support a dynamic high growth organization. The O/MUSV program is based in Port Hueneme, CA, and is responsible for delivering cutting edge autonomous vessel technology to the US Navy. The program operates and maintains prototype autonomous vessels for test and evaluation of the vessels as well as developing operations, maintenance, logistics and training procedures for the autonomous Fleet of the future. This position is on-site in Port Hueneme. The Field Ops / Engineering will work closely with program Lead Engineer, Quality Manager, and Hull Managers, who are remote workers, to provide on-site oversight and reporting on O/MUSV vessels, autonomous control systems, payload integration activities, and shipyard work. Field Operations / Engineering Techs will assist in preparing various reports for management and government customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Function as the on-site O/MUSV engineering representative, reporting to Lead Engineer and responsive to Hull Managers.

  • Assist program Engineering team with failure reports, troubleshooting reports, and corrective action reports.

  • Represent Leidos Quality Control team in overseeing shipboard and shipyard work on program vessels.

  • Provide assessments to Hull Managers on vessel conditions.

  • Participate in Operations, Logistics, and Engineering sync meetings as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office toolset, to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

  • Able to communicate effectively and reliably via email, Teams, and telephone.

  • Able to interact professionally with program Engineering, Quality and Management personnel, and with uniformed and civilian US Navy customers.

  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • US Citizenship required to start.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO 9000 quality programs.

  • Familiarity with shipboard and/or shipyard environments and operations

  • Background in maritime industry

  • US Navy or Coast Guard experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00
