The Systems Administrator will be in direct support of the U.S. Office of Military Cooperation – Kuwait (OMC‐K) customers. Primary duty locations are U.S. offices within OMCK spaces of the US Embassy and Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense (KMoD) facility in Kuwait City, Kuwait.
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all IT architectures in the organization and will support the entire site solo as needed, from service desk up to server, storage, and network administration. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for physical and virtual server operations & maintenance, converged architecture support, basic network administration, and Tier I-III desktop troubleshooting as needed on multiple networks.
Primary Responsibilities
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual Windows server operating systems for domain operations and security (2012R2, including domain controllers, DNS, Exchange, ePO, ACAS, and SCCM servers)
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual environments (vSphere 6)
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot host servers and storage area networking (SAN) equipment (NetApp FlexPods w/ Cisco UCS servers and NetApp SAN devices)
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows desktops and laptops (Win7 and Win10), Win10-based Virtual Desktop Environment (VDI), printers, digital senders, video teleconferences, VOIPs, and other standard office equipment (basic to advanced service desk actions)
Maintain security including patches, IAVAs, STIGS, updates, and backups
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot SharePoint servers (Web Front End, Application, Database, and storage); build and implement custom SharePoint pages, portals, dashboards, and workflows using OOTB SharePoint, Designer, InfoPath, and other commonly associated tool sets
Provide informal training to government representatives and teammates on SharePoint use
Provide Tier I, II, and III troubleshooting on desktop systems, software, printers, Video Teleconferences, and server/network related issues
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot basic LAN equipment (Cisco switches and routers, TACLANEs)
Manage users, computers, security groups, GPOs, and other Active Directory requirements for the site
Maintain mobile systems and services (such as iPhone configuration & support, VPN technology, etc)
Participate in or lead special projects and day‐to‐day operations as needed or assigned by the site lead, including, but not limited to, security accreditation efforts (RMF); configuration management processes; and IT infrastructure projects
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
8570 IAT III IA Baseline Cert (one of the following): CASP CE, CCNA Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH.
Computing Environment Certifications: VCP-DCV6, MCSA: Server 2012,CCNA: R&S.
Some experience with SharePoint site development and advanced SharePoint administration.
Strong systems and network troubleshooting skills.
Ability to comfortably work in time-sensitive situations involving general officers, State Department diplomats, and non-US personnel.
Active TS SCI clearance
Valid US passport and ability to pass the CRC requirements
