Position Overview

The Systems Architect is responsible for providing architect support in the evaluation, analysis, and design of the CDMX Enterprise. This position will also support the MPCO/BCO with the design and development of the MPCO Enterprise, with specific emphasis placed on the evaluation, analysis, and recommendation of capabilities enabling the connection of multiple SECRET/REL environments. Additionally, the Systems Architect will assist the MPCO with oversight and management of the implementation, fielding and sustainment of the MPCO Enterprise, as well as make technical and architect design recommendations.

Essential Job Function

  • Provide architect support in the evaluation, analysis, and design of the CDMX enterprise
  • Coordinate the development and annual update of the US BICES-X Enterprise Global Architecture Design document for the BCO
  • Assist the BCO with reviewing and, as required, providing comments on all US BICES-X Enterprise design documents
  • Support the MPCO/BCO with the design and development of the MPCO Enterprise with specific emphasis placed on the evaluation, analysis and recommendation of capabilities enabling the connection of multiple SECRET/REL environments
  • Assist the MPCO with oversight and management of the implementation, fielding, and sustainment of the MPCO Enterprise
  • Provide the MPCO with technical and architectural design recommendations in assessing and evaluating appropriate interfaces between the US BICES-X Enterprise, NATO, US, and Coalition Mission Partner classified cloud environments and/or foreign partner systems and networks
  • Recommend the most promising technologies and, based on a business case analysis, recommend which technologies should be road mapped into an operational or projected Mission Partner Environment (MPE) capability
  • Recommend the actions necessary to demonstrate the value and applicability of the technology and transition it to full operational capability
  • Make recommendations on how the technology should be demonstrated or prototyped in order to reduce risk
  • Identify the shortest, most efficient, and lowest risk path for implementing the technology, with various identification of courses of action when there is a conflict between the shortest and lowest risk path. Rank all recommended technologies in order of priority based on operational necessity
Minimum Qualifications
  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • 10 years’ experience in the design, testing, implementation, and sustainment of complex intelligence or military information sharing systems
  • Minimum two years of experience working with multi-level security solutions supporting coalition environments and working at the Joint Staff, at a CCMD, DoD, or with NATO, and deploying or actively supporting coalition or bilateral military information sharing efforts
  • Master’s Degree in the stated discipline OR Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 additional years of relevant work experience
  • Must have requisite engineering degree as applicable to engineering OR program management certification as applicable to program management
  • Must have 6 years of specific, relevant functional experience as a Systems Architect supporting a DoD customer
  • Ability to work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and perform all functional duties independently
  • Ability to oversee efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with the highest levels of management
  • Ability to professionally prepare and present analytical documents for senior military and defense officials
  • Ability to develop materials and brief senior leaders on complex issues
  • Cost/schedule/performance background
