What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Consumer Group Digital Team is looking for a Distinguished Engineer-Systems Architecture to join the IG/AM Team.

  • Evaluating industry security and identity solutions and trends and aligning Verizon identity platform architecture and technologies.
  • Evaluating vendor products such as ForgeRock Open Access Manager and OpenID releases, understanding the security and other benefits of the releases, and evaluating and aligning integration and impacts to Verizon architecture and technologies.
  • Ensuring solutions provide benefits to Verizon customers and applications, adhere to security and privacy standards, and improvised the performance and maintenance of the platform. The solutions must also meet retail season loads and other performance load requirements.
  • Leading Identity Access Management architecture and technologies with a focus on innovative solutions providing customers password less solutions eliminating customer friction, improving performance while reducing platform maintenance while providing customers overall better management of their privacy using emerging technologies such as blockchain and SSI.
  • Driving IT and Verizon business on customer experiences and application architecture alignment with new technologies and platform implementations. These leading-edge solutions will need to adhere to Verizon and Industry privacy standards as well as align with current and future NIST security and identity standards.
  • Aligning with Verizon Business and IT Application leaders on Identity product and solution implementations, including customer experience, features, capabilities, architecture and technology stacks.
  • Reviewing Business and IT roadmaps, including Vendor roadmaps that require Verizon identity solutions such as Apple and BestBuy, and align with Identity roadmap and solutions.
  • Ensuring business, security, legal, and privacy compliance and approval with Verizon as well as Vendor integrations with Verizon IAM solutions.
  • Providing executive leadership recommendations, and presentation reporting including ensuring release certification, post-release certification and all service level SLAs are documented and met, and coordinating with infrastructure operations on monitoring and implementation procedure including application-level Checkpoint and other monitoring health checks.
  • Aligning Identity Access Management US and Offshore developers on platform architecture and technologies, ensuring application designs, development and solutions align to platform architecture, security and privacy standard.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in identity access management platform architecture.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • Experience in Identity and access management using industry-standard products including Sun Access Manager, Oracle OpenSSO, Oracle OAAM, ForgeRock OpenAM, and ForgeRock OpenIG technologies.
  • Experience in application architecture and design including front-end design using Java, JSP, Sprint Framework, JavaScript, HTML, and Scala; and back-end design using Java, J2EE, Servlets, JMS, Kafka, Log4J, XML, and Enterprise integration patterns like Spring Integration;
  • Experience in Java J2EE technologies.
  • Experience in Distributed systems like Akka and Spark.
  • Experience in working with Pub/Sub messaging systems such as Apache Kafka or Amazon Kinesis.
  • Experience in NoSQL Databases such as Apache Cassandra, Amazon Elastic, or Redis.
  • Experience in frontend technologies such as Google AngularJS, Facebook React, or Vue.js.
  • Experience in agile DevOps using CI/CD methodology (Continuous Integration / Continuous Development) using Jira project tracking, Jenkins build and automation, and Git;
  • Experience in functional programming paradigm.
  • Knowledge of FCC, NIST, OWASP, GDPR, CCPA and PCI industry security and privacy standards.
  • Knowledge of identity protocols and standards including web-based policies, OAuth/OIDC tokens, and SAML federation.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; can present concisely and effectively to critical audiences including VP, executive and director-level presentations.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple, often conflicting and escalating priorities to successful completion, including the ability program manage cross-application infrastructure and technology organizations to deliver integrated solutions.
