Job Summary

Amentum is currently seeking an Electronic Technician C supporting the Calibration Laboratory, as well as being cross-trained and cross-utilized in other departments, the candidate shall possess working knowledge and be capable of performing calibrations on various types of electrical/electronic. Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), as well as mechanical TMDE. Requires the ability to understand technical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams. Must be capable of operating precision laboratory Standards and performing tasks related to troubleshooting, repair, servicing and calibration of electrical, electronic, physical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, both in the laboratory and on-site locations.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Evaluates the laboratories capability to conduct specific calibration tasks in accordance with the quality system.
  • Individual must possess working knowledge of common laboratory standards and Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
  • Accurately performs tests, measurements, calibrations, servicing, troubleshooting and repair of physical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic instrumentation in the laboratory and on-site locations using only approved calibration procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of physics, electrical and electronic theory to test and evaluate TMDE.
  • Performs job activities with minimum supervision and technical assistance. Implements the Calibration Lab Quality System and Standard Operating Procedures, the Navy’s Metrology Automated Systems for Uniform Recall and Reporting (MEASURE) Program, and METPRO.
  • Follows good laboratory practices.
  • Observes laboratory environmental requirements and ensures the laboratory environment is within required limits at the beginning and end of all calibrations.
  • Ensures all standards meet minimum specifications required by the approved calibration procedures.
  • Strives for excellent customer service.
  • Enforces and maintains the company’s 5S objectives. Performs other duties as assigned.

Electronics and Mechanical shop environment Physical Activities:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in sub-floor areas and crawl spaces in performing calibrations and troubleshooting tasks.

PHYSICAL ELEMENTS:

  • Lifting, pushing and pulling 25 – 50 lbs.
  • Walking, sitting, standing, crawling, kneeling or cramped Work requiring repeated stooping
  • Customer Contact Extended workday Confined work area


Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent + 2-year technical school
  • Related experience electronics or instrumentation technician, or equivalent, can be substituted for schooling.
  • This position may require certification with requirements of DOD 8570.01-M. Once identified, certification must be obtained within 60 days and maintained for continued employment.

Experience:

  • Four years of progressive experience in a related field with a minimum of two years experience in the specific field of assignment is required.
  • Possess working knowledge of basic electronics theory and Physical/Dimensional calibration theory and applications.
  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting complicated schematic diagrams for troubleshooting and repair to the component level.
  • Must be able to use, apply and understand complex test and measuring equipment.
  • Must possess the following PC skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected must be a US Citizen in order to apply for a Secret Security Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment, and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
