More About the Role:
The NGEN-R SMIT NMCI Global Logistics team has openings for Regional Asset Managers (AsM) to oversee and conduct the management of IT assets based out of Mechanicsburg PA.

Focuses on the tracking and control of service assets in the IT infrastructure and collaborates with configuration analysts to train Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) staff in SACM principles, processes, and procedures. Supports the creation of the SACM process, activities, and procedures to include CI registration procedures, access controls, and privileges. Ensures the correct roles and responsibilities are defined in the SACM plan/procedures. Assists with procurement of IT assets when requested. Works with other SACM roles to tag and track all IT assets and to identify their locations and owners. Receives IT assets and ensures delivery to correct locations, and coordinates IT asset setup and teardown activities when requested. Proposes/concurs with the SACM Manager on CIs to be uniquely identified with naming conventions. Ensures developers and configuration system users comply with identification standards. Liaises with Configuration Librarian on population of asset and configuration management system (CMS). Performs configuration audits to ensure physical inventory is consistent with the configuration management database (CMDB)/CMS, initiating corrective action through Change Control. Accepts baselined products from third parties for distribution. Builds system baselines for promotion and release. Maintains project status information and status accounting records and reports. Assists SACM Manager in report definition as required.

What You'll Get to Do:
The Mechanicsburg Warehouse is the central hub for all SMIT gear entering and leaving the Navy environment. In addition items will be received and tracked at 6 satellite warehouses and managed by the Warehouse Manager. Items will need to be input into the Warehouse Management System, that links to the Asset Management database. The warehouse will print and affix asset and IUID tags to the government owned equipment. The person shall be responsible for overseeing the shipment and receipt of all gear leaving the warehouse. The team will conduct all transactions for logistics when items are shipped from site to site, or returned to Mechanicsburg. Demilitarization and Disposal will be conducted through the warehouse team to retire End of Life and End of Sale equipment. The team will follow government DLA processes and procedures to ensure compliance is met with handling GFE equipment. Monthly audits of the warehouse management system against the Asset Management database to ensure accuracy of the systems.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
-Requires High School Diploma and 1-3 years of prior relevant experience.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Experience with “HP Asset Manager” software.
•Experience with FAR/DFAR Government Property Management requirements.
•Experience with Government asset management system (DPAS or GCSS-MC).
