Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Logistics Supervisor to join our team. The position is based at our Jackson, MS facility.

Position Overview:

The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the shipping operations control function covering shipping planning and flow, unit inventory control, material handling, and systems information flow. Indirectly responsible for customer service management and order management processes.

In this function you will:

  • Schedule production of work order releases and work in progress to meet stated goals for capacity utilization, on time delivery, and cost.
  • Direct day-to-day activities in the shipping area.
  • Improve book to ship process and increase robustness of internal and external customer communication process.
  • Expedite delivery of critical or delayed material by determining fastest route.
  • Lead and direct the material planning team to balance part needs as driven by MRP and shipping department capacity.
  • Improve automated processes to minimize short lead time order placement.
  • Improve velocity of material moving through the plants receiving, shipping departments.
  • Lead, manage, and develop salaried and hourly employees.
  • Be responsible for the following key measures: Daily clearances, work-in-process, order date accuracy, internal booked to ship TAT, customer on-time-delivery, material velocity through the plant, and employee engagement to name a few.
  • Take a leading role with defining and executing continuous improvement projects, including visual controls, standard work, 6S/FOD and material flow, among others to create a lean culture.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Jackson, MS facility will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Thorough knowledge of Aerospace industry, complex machined materials management, lean manufacturing, MRP/ERP, and MFG Pro a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization (customers, marketing, engineering, quality, and manufacturing) is key.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment with strong ability to take action and get results.
  • Ability to quickly analyze, identify and implement opportunities and corporate initiatives for improvement that have measurable dollar impact each year. Change management skills a plus.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, coaching and consulting skills.
