PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Inspect, service, and maintain diesel locomotives in accordance with governmental and company regulations.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Diagnose diesel engine malfunctions and make indicated repairs using hand tools, measuring instruments and sometimes machine tools;

Inspect, maintain, and repair locomotives, including air brakes, diesel engines, and air compressors;

Perform air brake tests;

Operate welding equipment to cut or make necessary repairs;

Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Preference given to those with a Journeymen diesel, Heavy-Duty, Industrial Electrician, Truck, Farm Implement Mechanics or related fields;

Automotive Technicians and Electricians will also be considered with apprenticeship credits offered for prior work experience;

Strong problem solving and computer skills;

Must be able to work within strict established safety and work guidelines/rules to complete job;

Will be required to have obtained all CP certification pertaining to specific tasks and assignments;

CP operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; must be able to work on various shifts and days off;
